CARYS BARO, FEMALE, SHE/HER, PANSEXUAL, 212 is a WEREWOLF in Hollywood. Some say that they resemble SALMA HAYEK. This one is known to be SERENE but can be RESERVED. They work as a STUNTWOMAN. They have TAKEN their Oath with the Society. We hope that you’re prepared to do what you need to for fame.
I.
Carys was born into a loud and boisterous pack in California, amongst beautiful mountains and never ending landscapes where she could run wild with her littermates. Their supernatural nature had been revered and honored for centuries, she could trace her ancestors to powerful tribes in Lebanon and Native Americans all over the continent; she and her people had pure magic running through their veins and should be proud of it. And Carys was, so so proud of it.
II.
As she grew; the little werewolf’s personality started showing. Carys was restless, loud and seemingly fearless. All promising traits for a great pack leader, even an Alpha. She thirsted for adventure, for knowledge, she loved animals and she was eager to start training and learning the workings of their community and the world around them. There was a spark of ambition and arrogance that she was quickly warned against; it was unbecoming and dangerous and not the way of their kind. But in the end, Carys had a very peaceful temperament and showed a maturity well beyond her years.
III.
The young werewolf couldn’t wait for her first shift and it was to nobody’s surprise when it came as she was just grazing puberty. Dark as night, in her wolf form, Carys could easily outrun and outsmart her other pack mates and she took such joy in it, almost feeling incomplete when it came time to return to her human self.
IV.
But as time passed and the werewolf populations around them started dwindling and struggling, Carys started getting worried. Their numbers were hitting an all time low as the world modernized and resources disappeared. The land they once enjoyed with no boundaries grew more scarce and priorities shifted. That was when Carys started to find her mission and purpose in life: she wanted to be more than a leader for her kind, she wanted to be a protector and a mentor. There had always been a nurturing and guiding energy about her that she found she could channel while teaching and she found incredibly rewarding. It filled her with pride to be able to keep werewolf traditions alive and vibrant, while also learning from younger generations herself.
V.
Carys had inherited a sizable expanse of land from her pack elders, that had the childhood ranch in which she had grown up. It was her most prized possession, hidden in the mountains, covered in lush forest with sparkling rivers and caves. A werewolf sanctuary, and she wanted it to stay that way. So eventually it could house her own pack and any stray that needed a place to call home. But taking care of it was no easy feat, financially especially. She needed extra hands, repairs, so many things, the threat of The Man taking away her property always looming in the horizon. And so it was with much distrust that in the early 80′s, Carys decided to make the trek down to the City of Angels to look for a “real” job.
VI.
She did not know where to start looking... The perfect opportunity literally came crashing down on Carys when she carelessly stepped in front of a moving bus and then managed to dodge it in the last minute with a very athletic maneuver (“are you some kind of gymnast?” “uh... sure.”). Two hours later, she was walking out of a studio having nailed an audition to be some actress’ stunt double. Three hours earlier, she had no idea what that was.
VII.
Turns out, people with Carys’ talents and specifications weren’t that common. Job offers started raining in. She got to go in, play pretend, jump around and retreat into her lovely ranch and anonymity at the end of the week to howl at the moon. It was perfect. She got to expand her ranch, fix up her house. She got horses, trails and even set up a little farm with a shelter for all kinds of strays. This was the life that she wanted, quiet and ready to carry on her legacy.
VIII.
Until things got a little rocky. Very rocky. Markets crashed. Strikes. Wildfires. CGI. Technology. Audiences wanted different things. Carys found herself out of jobs and drowning in bills, her property could be taken away. Everything she had worked for so hard could be gone in an instant... Desperate, she upped her search for jobs and put herself out there and when it seemed like no hope was left, a business card was left in her mailbox: The Society.
VIII.
Cressida and Estelle give back the werewolf the success and relevance she needed to keep her dreams alive, she just had to sign their contract. Carys, who had always lived an existence free of chains was hesitant yet there was too much at stake and agreed... She was now a werewolf on retainer. Which was not bad in all honesty. Being in contact with more supernaturals in a human world was a gift and now she wasn’t worried about her property. And the tasks she had to perform for them were also not bad. And then along came Sierra Lescott. The world famous actress and newly found werewolf, who was to be her new protege. Who threw tantrums like a child. Carys, under her contract was forced to imprint on her as her alpha, which is something that causes her tremendous guilt. Yet, she has vowed to train the younger werewolf and protect her to the best of her ability.
IX.
Carys is now a renowned professional stuntwoman in Hollywood, she trains other athletes, actors, consults and supervises whenever she is needed. Because of her “age” and time in the industry, projects come a little less often as when she was younger which she finds very irritating but it’s nothing that a little vampire glamour from her bosses can’t fix. Mostly, she enjoys being at her ranch the most, tending to her land and her horses and just wants to have her own pack and carry on with her legacy and put all this Hollywood nonsense behind.
