Let me preface it by saying I am fully aware of how absurd it is. I get it. But sometimes, in an attempt to not seem like a bother, you want it to be explicitly stated that your company is wanted. You’ll say “clearly he wants you to come because he just asked”. But “are you coming?” and “I really want you to come”. Sounds entirely different. It in the nuance and yes, the semantics.
