Character: Bakugou Katsuki
Request: Hello! Can I get a bakugo katsuki from mha with a male so who has two quirks one is mind reading and the other one is he can move things with his mind. No one knows he has a mind reading quirk. You can make the male reader tell it to everyone after a while. If you can’t it’s alright. Thank you either way. I’m grateful for more trans reader inserts.
Warnings: slightly misgendering at first, but not intentionally; also cursing (I didn’t have to put too much thought into it because I curse a lot irl so I’m used to it lol)
Notes: I don’t know if I wrote him too ooc, but at least it has a happy ending. I’ve spent 10 minutes looking for a gif where he’s smiling and there’s none. That’s just sad.
Quirks. The proof that humanity was constantly evolving.
Once they had been a rarity, something people feared and admired at the same time; now it was pretty common with 80% of the population having one.
As previously stated, humanity is constantly evolving so it wasn’t that much of a surprise when you manifested two of them: Telepathy and Telekinesis. The doctors had made sure that your body could handle it and that it wouldn’t affect your health negatively, but once they made sure everything was okay they let you go as if nothing had happened.
Your parents had advised you to only let others know about the telekinesis for your own safety.
Years went by and you met Katsuki, a hot-headed, aggressive guy that was as handsome as he was terrifying- but fundamentally a good person. Being able to read his mind had been crucial to become friends with him. And also to understand why he had froze with a frown on his face when you came out to him as trans right before the winter break.
<<Does that mean that she’s a dude? I mean, that HE’s a boy. (Y/N)? (Y/N)… yeah, it suits him. Am I the only one who knows? What should I say? Have I been silent for too long? Oh my God what if I’m offending he– him. Him. Katsuki Bakugo don’t be a fucking asshole for fuck’s sake.>>
You had chuckled then and brought his attention back to the moment using your telekinesis and tugging on his backpack. Then he had smiled brightly and promised to always be by your side no matter what, for you were one of his best friends.
Your parents had supported you with their whole hearts only slipping a couple times before getting used to your name and pronouns. Transitioning had been a fairly positive experience, although mentally exhausting. Once you went back to school and reunited with the class, they were as welcoming and friendly as ever, jumping to defend you even when you had clearly told them that you didn’t need it. You didn’t mind it too much though, it made you feel loved.
Then your heart had decided that everything was going too well and came up with a thousand reasons why Katsuki would be the perfect boyfriend. And thus you developed a crush.
One day All Might had decided that there was no way better to know your classmate’s strengths and weaknesses than to fight them. You had to fight in pairs, changing partners every few minutes. Turns out that you had improved quite a lot, because one moment you were struggling to keep up with Katsuki and the next you almost broke a table over his head. Scared, you had run to him apologizing. He was equally surprised.
“You don’t have to fucking kill me to get good grades, dude.”
“Getting rid of you would put me in the first place,” you answered, hearing the joking tone he had used “but looks like I wasn’t fast enough.” You grinned and winked at him. And, only to be completely sure that he hadn’t got hurt, you let yourself listen to his thoughts.
<<Oh. Oh shit. Holy fucking shit. (Y/N) fucking winked at me. That was- he’s– Holy shit. I’m gay.>>
Okay you hadn’t expected that.
You both stood there for a while, blushing and not meeting each other’s eyes.
A couple weeks later you asked him out.
You had been dating for months when you decided to tell him about your secret quirk.
“Hey, Baku… can I tell you something?”
“I love you too.” You chuckled and he smiled back.
“Yeah, I know. And I love you, but that’s not what I want to talk about.” Now curious (and a bit uneasy) he focused on you.
“You know that my quirk is telekinesis, right? Well, so… turns out it wasn’t the only quirk that manifested when I was four.”
“Yes. You see, the doctors said that it wasn’t anything dangerous and that in a couple years probably more people would be able to have more than quirk. You know, evolution and all that.” You took a deep breath and stared intently at the ground. “I can read minds.” Katsuki’s face paled and you started to watch his features harden in anger. Before he could accuse you of anything, you jumped to your defense. “I don’t use it unless necessary, I swear. I respect privacy and I would never invade someone’s thoughts knowing that it could end up hurting them.”
“Have you ever used it on me?”
“Tell me, (Y/N), have you?”
He turned around and left.
You didn’t know what to do, you were too lost. You felt guilty. And sad. So, so sad. You had screwed up big time.
The week went by slow. Everything was dull, your classmates were starting to worry about you and Katsuki didn’t even look at you.
One day, between classes you heard Izuku talking to Katsuki.
“‘That’s all’ you say? Goddamnit Deku my boyfriend tells me he can read minds and you shake it off as if it wasn’t a big deal.”
“It isn’t. Asui, Momo and I already knew.”
“You fucking what? He told you?”
“Nope, we just figured out. While training he seemed to know exactly what his opponent was going for, and acted consequentially.”
“Why dind’t I figure it out?” You barely heard Katsuki mumble.
“You tend to lose yourself in the fight. You act on impulse. Oh and also because you’re hopelessly in love with him.”
“Shut up, Deku.” You watched as Katsuki sat down with Izuku by his side. Sighing, he looked at the floor. “I fucked up, Deku. He told me and I just…”
“I didn’t expect more, really.” Said Izuku, chuckling. You had to stop yourself from snorting.
“Deku you’re on thin fucking ice here. I’m not in the mood for this bullshit right now.”
“Okay, okay, I’m sorry. Have you tried talking to him?” Silence. “Then do it. Go talk to him. He’s been sulking all week aswell. You’re a good person, Kacchan, you just need to be less egocentric.”
Right when Katsuki grabbed the collar of Izuki’s shirt, his eyes showing pure annoyance, you stepped out.
The two boys looked at you wide-eyed. Izuku saw the opportunity to run away and so he did.
“I’m sorry, too, for not telling you before.”
“Well… turns out that I could have figured it out if I had paid attention, so… it’s not only your fault.” He smiled slightly.
He took a few steps in your direction and embraced you.
“Have you read my mind since…?”
“No. I didn’t want to make things worse…”
“Good, I would be really embarrassed right know if you knew how much I’ve been thinking about you.”
