You know what's really better than a soppy romantic kiss? Friends just being there for their friends.

In the movie about my life, this song will play during the montage of all the people who have quickly come and gone in my life, but left big footprints.
Great night.
MACKLEMORE & RYAN LEWIS - SAME LOVE feat. Mary Lambert
Nothing can compare to hearing 2,500 people sing along to this song word for word.
I get to see this man tomorrow. I also feel the need to admit that I do like NPR.
The best post Thanksgiving Break decision I've made is to bring three ugly Christmas sweaters back.
How I Think About Things
You know how most girls have been planning their wedding since they were six? I was never one of those girls. The way I see it, there's no way to pick colors, a venue, a dress, food, etc. without a groom.
Since I don't see a groom looming in the near future, the only thing I ever dream about is my bridesmaids and maid of honor. I didn't grow up with sisters, but I've acquired more than my share along the way. The truth is, there are so many amazing women in my life, I might hope for a crazy cat lady future, so I never have to choose. Here's the short list:
my younger cousin who I've watched grow into an empowered women. Since she started high school, there isn't a broken heart or crazy night that either one of us doesn't know about. When she visited me last year, I caught myself telling people my sister was coming. We'll be drinking wine at Thanksgiving together when I'm 92 and she's 90.
my wife? Just kidding... kind of. I was single when I first got Facebook for a matter of weeks before I "married" my best friend. Seven years later, we're still going strong. We both agreed that when we're dating boys, if they can't handle not being FBO, they're not worth it. I will only change my relationship status when I'm engaged for real. Until then, I've got a save a spot in this party for my first real best friend.
my twins, my babies. The absolute best thing to come out of being in a sorority is my two littles. Nothing can beat late night chats in our room, our ridiculous group texts, or getting called Mom on campus. We're all a little different and a lot of crazy, but together we work. They get me and they put up with me, that's saying something.
my co-leader. No matter how many different co-leaders I have in life, I'll be hard pressed to find someone who can beat Summer 2012. My boss had no idea what she was getting into when she put us together, neither did we. She's the newest addition to this list, but it feels like we've been friends for a lifetime. I sincerely believe that from now on, we will be. We're different, but so similar. She is patient, quirky, generous, and enthusiastic. She knows things about me before I know them. We rarely go 24 hours without talking to each other. Our partnership and resulting friendship came as a surprise, but it's one of the best surprises I've ever experienced.
Five people! That seems like so many. What about the ladies who biked through mountain ranges with me and kayaked with me sans shower for 21 days? What about the crazy high school friends who can always make me laugh and keep me sane? What about the sorority sisters that have seen me at my best and my worst, and still love me? What about my sister-in-law who sits with me for hours talking about sex, religion, kids, and everything you're supposed to sweep under the rug?
The truth is, I could probably do a 27 Dresses, but until the right guy gets down on one knee for me, I'm not going to focus on numbers, and I'm just going to be grateful for such an amazing diverse group of women who chose, for some reason, to love me just as much as I love them.
peanutbutterifpossible: I’m glad I can walk around my house barefoot and sing Christmas music at the top of my lungs.
maurat: Oh I’m wearing a stretchy skirt to make people think I’m fancy but I’ll probably be barefoot and definitely drinking wine.
peanutbutterifpossible: I am wearing a stretchy skirt, barefoot and am drinking wine…
maruat: Seriously!? Or are you mocking me?
*shows picture of bare feet and stretchy skirt*
peanutbutterifpossible: You will have to believe me on the wine.
maurat: Yes. I am so thankful we are friends. I want our kids to fall in love and get married.
best friend material.
Joking With Someone...
is the worst when you realize you're joking about different things.
Me: You know what movie I'm actually excited to see?
Me and Chris in unison: The Hobbit

Brennan: Did we just become best friends?
Dale: Yep!
On bridges across the Seine in Paris, couples lock locks as a testament to their love. I will do this someday.
Most people at my college can't stop talking about how excited they are for Thanksgiving break because they just want to eat food and sleep. Though those two things are some of my favorite things, I'm looking forward to finishing with my papers, emails, and test because I have something better to look forward to: an adventure. It's an adventure with friends too, the best kind of adventure.
For a while I thought I was an introvert. This diagram clearly explains that I am an extrovert.
