God, Nanami is such a good character because for such a large portion of the series, she is nothing, she is there in the background making things harder for our protagonists, acting in ways that we are meant to find disagreeable, and all her episodes have been elaborate jokes punking her for her very existence, then Her Tragedy happens, and an extensive Rube Goldberg machine that’s been set up for the entire series goes off, as all those stupid jokes they made about her are revealed to have been essential character development, the curtains behind her and her brothers relationship is pulled back, and she singlehandedly takes back her destiny from him, and from Ohtori academy.
