“Hey, are you heading home already today? Days without club activities actually leave you with too much time on your hands, don't they? I'm just wandering around like usual, though.

Say, do you know Aragaki-kun, the guy who got caught up in that violent incident the other day? I've been at Gekkoukan since elementary school, so I remember the day he transferred to the school. He and Sanada-kun, who also transferred around the same time, were really close even back then. Unlike now, Sanada-kun was quiet, or rather, he seemed a bit timid, and Aragaki-kun was always dragging him around. To a kid, it looked like a boss and his henchman, but Aragaki-kun probably thought back then in his childish heart "I'm doing this to protect that guy!".

...You know, I think about this a lot. When you lose someone important to you, the people left behind can never let go of the memories of when that person was alive and well, right? I won't tell them to let go, of course, and I think some people can use the lose as a springboard to become stronger, but if it can be avoided, you'd obviously want to avoid it. That's why, not just for the person's own sake but for the people around them too, saving a person's life is a truly meaningful thing.”

Finally found the segment in the official book, so I decided to fully translate it too. I think all of this is really cool to be honest. Even Keisuke’s point of view is actually pretty insightful

Thinking about the meaner/harsher dialogue choices Kitaro has in the game...

AU where he's in NG+(++) & time-looping through the game again and he's getting tired of things going the same way always leading to the same end, he just straight up distances himself from his friends & gives harsher answers to make himself seem like an ass so he ends up pushing himself away (similar to the way he shuts himself off in the 3rd movie after Shinji's death but worse because he's actively being mean).

Remembering the scene in the game where Ktr, Junpei & Yukari go to the back alley to find out more about Fuuka, and Shinji helping them out. After Junpei thanks Shinji for his help, Ktr has the 2 options to thank him but also a 3rd option saying they 'didn't need his help', which had me going 'huh...potential au where he's gone through loops of the story so much he's actively distancing himself from friends to try and get a different ending, avoiding making the bonds that would've helped him along his journey... the Ktr in this loop who's actively harming himself by neglecting his friends even though he loves them...
