Some various sketches and unfinished designs/concepts for an Amphibia location swap au I've had for a long while, where Marcy ends up in Wartwood, Sasha in Newtopia, and Anne in Toad tower

a couple of essential things i have down so far:

Maddie secretly gives Marcy shelter and food in exchange for being able to study her, which eventually leads to teaching Marcy magic and becoming besties

In toad tax, Marcy turns herself in and gets brought to toad tower. For what reason and how, I'm still figuring out (Sprig and Maddie end up sneaking on board with her)

Anne manages to hide the box from the toads throughout her imprisonment. She also accidently sparks a revolution (again) against Grime within toad tower

Reunion ends out with Toad tower collapsing after a couple unsatisfied toads blow it up or lure some herons towards it. Anne and marcy get seperated when Grime grabs anne out of spite, bringing them both down falling off the tower

Marcy and anne would have an argument when Marcy decides to come clean, no (major) sword fights though

Grime and Anne end up begrudgingly helping each other survive in the Amphibia wild because of their toad tower injuries (with percy and braddock). Grime ends up teaching Anne how to stand up for herself, but they still genuinely kinda hate each other

Sasha just becomes a worse person while believing she's improving

Andrias gives her all the power she needs in order to make her think she's in control, which ends up her becoming a military commander. She thinks she has the king under her thumb but that's farthest from the truth

Eventually she has to carry out arresting/executing Grime for failing, and has to arrest Anne for defending him

Also anne thinks Marcy died in the Toad tower collapse, basically an early True Colors actually-

Theres a lot more specifics that'd I love to get into but I'm lazy

everyone sit down i am having Thoughts again

more specifically, i am having Thoughts about the line: "Does not sleep, and will not die."

not only because of the horrifying implications that the core will run marcy's body to the ground, but because this line re-enforces how unnatural the core is. all organic, living things must come to an end. they all need rest. but the core doesn't. it isn't organic or natural; it's something artificial, man-made, unnatural.

which makes it all the more fitting that anne's powers are like a force of nature, something unrefined and instinctive, and all this reminded me of this post i made about the mossmen, and what possible purpose they could serve in the upcoming battle. their connection to all that is happening also seems even more plausible because of this:

the flowers blooming as mother olm recited the prophecy caught my eye, and it wasn't until i went over my mossmen post that i realized why:

because the mossman made a flower bloom in much the same way

p.s: unrelated, but this line also makes what marcy says in her themesong takeover a lot more depressing:

you can sleep when you're dead, huh? but what if you can't do either...

Theory : Sasha’s parents are divorced and that’s why Sasha acts the way she and why she wants to be in control all the time. And maybe her parents have done bad things to her.
