How amazing it is to find someone who wants to hear about all the things that go on in your head.

intrusive audio ads
If you’ve been active on tumblr lately, you may notice that they’ve started running a new type of ad in the right-hand sidebar unit. Specifically, there’s been an uptick in ads that auto-play loud audio, some of which are even un-mutable.
We’ve addressed this in Anti-Capitalism version 1.3.0, which adds a new option:
(small mea culpa: the naming here is slightly confusing. this will *always* remove the sidebar ad, even if it doesn’t happen to be one that plays audio, because we don’t have the ability to distinguish between them. the other difference is that it does it in a way that also takes care of the audio-visual component instead of just hiding the ad, like some adblockers have been doing)
(EDIT: yes, you’ll have to refresh the page after installing the extension/enabling the option. It sounds like this might also conflict with other ad-blockers, so let us know if you have any issues and/or try disabling other adblockers first and see if that fixes the problem)
let us know what you think! I’m probably going to be going to bed soon, but you can always reach us in our ask box, our support blog, or our live support chat. In general the dev team has less time to reply to asks nowadays because of both real-life obligations and the sheer quantity of asks we receive, so you’ll generally have a better time with the support chat, if you can catch one of us online. If nobody is online, you always can leave a message for us to read later. thanks for understanding!
(one last plug—If you’re interested in helping us run New XKit, for example by answering asks or helping other users with questions + problems, come stop by and introduce yourself! we don’t bite, we promise!)
Just pushed an update to this that will now catch more ad types that were reported to us by the community. Thanks everyone! Make sure you update to Anti-Capitalism 1.3.1. You can do this by going to XKit > Other > Update All Extensions.
We also pushed an update to Vanilla Video that basically disables the extension—it was causing some severe problems with tumblr’s new “autoplay” code and basically causing non-ads to autoplay and then become invisible. fun. Anyway, if you have vanilla video installed, please make sure you’re on version 0.0.3.
As always, make sure to refresh your page (and any other tumblr tabs you might have open) after updating or installing XKit extensions. If you’re still running into issues, you might also want to try restarting your browser.
We all joke a lot about muse but I think we can all appreciate all the things they taught us:
stand up for what you believe or no one will
always break free out of toxic situations / don’t let toxic people control you
let out your frustration
be kind
love is powerful
we are only people but we always have a say in what happens, we may be small but we are not insignificant
if you make a mistake you always get a chance to start over and be a better person
you’re never lost, you’re just searching, and you will find whatever you’re looking for

All these non Muslims and plenty more Of the last like 10 years Muslim perpetrators make up about 2% of Americas mass shootings. That means 98% have been non Muslims?

Finally received a diagnosis
For the longest time, I suspected I had inattentive ADHD (or ADD). When I first decided to get help for it, I was 17 and on academic probation for a 2.00 GPA, and when my (at the time) paediatrician decided to try me on medications after extensive talks (not an official diagnosis, but he gave me his professional opinion), my parents outright refused. Of course, everyone thought that me being a university student meant I wanted study drugs, and I wanted an easy way around my “laziness”.
The last 4 years, I tried everything from therapy, exercising, eating better, multiple study strategies, l-theanine and caffeine pills (which actually works to an extent), and self-medicating with alcohol (showing up to midterms and finals drunk). Nothing could stop my brain from “flickering” between thoughts at lightning speed when I needed to concentrate the most. Worse yet, environmental stimuli can be the most distracting thing when your mind cannot differentiate between something that needs attention, and something that can be ignored.
To an extent, I was able to cope, at least academically. However, taking three courses a semester and studying twice as hard as the average student to simply pass my classes puts me very far behind, especially since I am now working on a BSc and BA concurrently. More frustrating is the fact that I know I have the potential to be a 4.00 student, but I am constantly underachieving.
So last week, using my status as a legal adult, I went to my referred psychiatrist, who confirmed my previous diagnoses (from two doctors). I am now on Dexedrine 10mg twice a day, and it’s been the best thing that’s ever happened to me. My parents know nothing, and I pay $16/month for medication (thank you university health care plan!).
However, Dexedrine has one very unpleasant side effect during its comedown (I won’t go into the details why or how). It amplifies the symptoms of my depression tenfold to the point where I am plagued with feelings of self-doubt, self-hatred, hopelessness, etc... and functioning, in general, becomes nearly impossible. To say it is unpleasant is an understatement, really. Benign thoughts of suicide have crossed my mind more often this past week than in the past month. My depression, in the past year, has gotten worse with my increased isolation, and that’s another issue that needs to be worked out. Regardless, Dexedrine has worked wonders for me, and I will continue taking it knowing full well I may become addicted to them at some point.
Medication can be great sometimes, but it’s heavily stigmatized for some reason. There are some things that exercise or eating clean or “taking long, refreshing nature walks” or yoga or (insert strange natural supplement) can’t fix. I have exhausted all possible avenues and I refuse to believe that I have given up because I “took the easy way out”.
i am so jealous of all the people who are comfortable with who they are physically and mentally
