i keep laughing at the way that eridian culture in the movie and eridian culture in the book are not contradictory at all, if you accept that movie rocky is just a total FREAK

The way Grace doesn't recognize his own importance and knowledge and skill out loud to us or Rock, maybe Rocky is the same way. Like, when they reach Erid, Grace finds out Rocky is actually known to be an engineering GENIUS and was chosen for it

Grace plays rocky some instrumental music from earth, and to rocky its mostly random sounds except a few places where it coincidentally sounds like an actual eridian word

Like the Jurassic Park theme tune to eridians just sounds like:

Eridian scientists were debating on whether they should do scientific experiments on Grace.

The debate ended quickly when Grace himself said he agreed they should do experiments, and even came up with some new ones they hadn't thought of.

maybe not all eridians were immediately onboard for the whole "build grace a fake beach" like why can't we just give him a little xenonite room or something

but then rocky moved heaven and earth erid and gave several highly charged speeches about their adventures and how brave and selfless grace was, until everyone was in agreement that grace needs to be loved and protected forever, and deserves a nice foggy beach

do you think eridians have theatre and sci-fi stories? and much like humans imagining humanoid aliens, most of the aliens eridians imagine still end up looking like eridian-oids.

like, they all still have five limbs but they're like soft and squishy or razor sharp for different aliens
