Just watched the first two episodes of the UK show Tip Toe and I of course have some quick thoughts.

Firstly I feel like I need to clarify for any 75blr moots that journey their way here, yes the only way I knew about this show was Denise.

But more importantly I'm trying to watch mainly queer projects this month for obvious reasons.

I'm quite interested to see where this short series ends given the flashes at the beginning of each episode.

Obviously I don't know much on UK queer culture, however I think there is a very important and universally needed conversation about the reality of the world right now and what that means for the queer community. The need to remember where we started from. That unfortunately whether we like it or not we are a political bargaining chip that needs to have our foot on the pedal. That we need to realise the work is very much not done even if it felt like, for some of us at least, it was finished a few years ago.

Furthermore, this theme highlights the disconnect within certain groups within the queer community. It wasn't until a trans women points out the current reality if politics does the main character, a cis gay man nearing his 60's, realise the degradation of the political state.

I would also like to add, and this may just be an overly nitpicky thought on my part, but there is a scene talking about the abuse suffered by a trans woman, and out of everyone in the room it's the black, and I think queer, woman to ask 'why didn't you go to the police?'. She would be the last one in that room to suggest interaction with law enforcement lets be so for real right now.

This isn't an in depth discussion or anything, just quick thoughts that I might revisit at the end of the show. I haven't even touched on the whole montage comparison of porn and snuff films at the end of episode one and the homophobic neighbour and such.
