BIO: Datolite is a sweet yet odd gem who outwardly seems prudish but is in truth an understanding and considerate gem. She doesn’t have any physical “defects” but rather mental ones. She lacks the cold methodical nature of regular Datolites. She is instead a slow gem who struggles with bouts of anxiety. This in turn caused her to do very poorly at her assigned jobs until she eventually was banished from Homeworld. This event scarred her very deeply and one she refuses to talk about.
Datolites are one of the working class on Homeworld. They work as secretaries who organize all kinds of data. Depending on the gem/diamond they’re made for, they can have wildly different colors. Recognized Datolites work on ships as low-level programmers and debuggers. They are incredibly dedicated to their jobs and are reliable gems when you want something done.

Strength - While Datolite’s gem is extremely brittle, she is the average amount of strong for a gem. Stronger than a Pearl but definitely not stronger than a Quartz.
Agility - Datolite is agile and fast, a trait that makes her ribbon wand a much more threatening weapon than it looks. She is able to catch up with a gem and bind them with her ribbons.
Confidence - Due to her poor past on Homeworld, she lacks a lot of confidence. She thinks of herself as a nuisance and has a very negative self-image.
Willpower - Despite her poor confidence, her willpower is one of her most defining traits. Over time she has willed herself to move past her low-confidence and get the job done as her skills are an incredible asset to her team.
Social Skills - She is awkward and anxious but her generally fun and understanding nature makes up for these traits. She makes friends easily but at times her tactless nature can get her into some issues with other gems.
Charisma - Datolite is unknowingly charming in her odd behavior which draws other gems to her. She is cheerful which puts others at ease. In addition, she lets other gems borrow and play with her wand.
Stamina - When she speeds up, it is only in bursts and lasts for a short time. Most of her power as a gem go into her agility and strength. Datolite doesn’t have a lot of physical stamina to speak of.
Creativity - Datolite is a notably creative gem but lacks the confidence to put her ideas in motion. When she finds a way to express her ideas, she becomes a juggernaut of creative energy and will not stop until her plans come to fruition, a key trait of Datolites.
Empathy - Her empathy is what makes her understanding--- a strange trait for a yellow gem. This is part of her charm as her personal understanding of hardships and anxieties make her more approachable and likable.
Humor - she is a comedian B3 10/10 stars
Discipline - This relates to her intelligence and confidence. Datolite isn’t a very logical thinker and it is difficult for her to grasp certain concepts the way other gems do. This is an attribute of hers that caused her to be ostracized from Homeworld. She views herself of inherently unworthy of help when it comes to training and improving her skills, therefore doesn’t accept it into the way she does things.
Intelligence - Datolite is often confused and left out of the loop. This isn’t because she’s simply stupid but because she is often lost in her own thoughts. Even then, she doesn’t get things as quickly as other gems do and doesn’t understand things in the same way. She lacks a lot of tactical know-how and goes with her gut. She isn’t traditionally smart but is smart nonetheless.
Perception - Due to her intelligence, she often doesn’t see a lot of things coming. Datolite is the type of gem that is lost in her own mind and concerned with her own affairs. On the flip side, her lack of perception is not a limitation as her willpower gets her through situations as they come.
Luck - In relation to her perception, intelligence, and willpower, she also relies on dumb luck to get through tough situations. Due to her tactless nature, Datolite will do something and hope it works. And, frustratingly enough, it usually does.
Skill/Special - An ability unique to Datolite is the ability to summon ribbons. One way she uses this power is by tying a ribbon to an opponent to keep track of their movements or to forcibly drag them to her location. She can also summon a multitude of ribbons to wrap an enemy in order to incapacitate them.
BIO: Labradorite is a fun-loving, brash, mischievous gem. She has a bit of an aristocratic worldview (despite how incredibly crude she is) due to the rarity of her gem and power: which is the power to bend light and create illusions. With this power, most Labradorites became performers for other high-ranking gems. Those that were not able to put on entertaining shows were harvested. During the war, Homeworld’s interest in Labradorites dwindled and they found a proper use for the gem. Therefore, all of the remaining Labradorites were sentenced to be harvested. This Labradorite miraculously escaped from Homeworld and became a well-known rebel. In canon, what remains of her is in the cluster.
Era 2 Labradorites, as well as Spectrolites, are architectural designers and responsible for most of the structures found on Homeworld. Because of this, they are generally high-ranking gems depending on their architectural finesse. Some, depending on the notoriety of their projects, have their own Pearls. Labradorites are still fairly rare as it is very taxing to create one (especially to create one mimicking the color of the diamond it was made for + to give it its high flash (Labradorites with low flash have incredibly weakened powers)), nevertheless they are very celebrated gems.

Strength - Era 1 Labradorites were prototypes and made to see the extent of their powers; their existence alone was very experimental. They weren’t made for heavy-lifting or wars but rather for their special ability. This will be elaborated in that section.
Agility - Since Labradorite didn’t have much strength to speak of, she had to learn how to dodge physical attacks. Though Labradorites will tend to be agile, this is an ability she honed herself and is much greater than most other gems of the same type.
Confidence - Labradorite draws a lot of her confidence from other people. Labradorites, before given a proper use in Era 2, were designated “jesters/magicians.” Her upbringing and very livelihood relied on the opinions of other gems. This is a habit she carries even to her liberated days.
Willpower - She naturally has a lot of willpower as things will get her down but she will find it in herself to get back up every time. She has a very “show must go on” mentality.
Social Skills - Labradorite is naturally mischievous, brash, and bold, which will rub many gems the wrong way. As well as this, due to her years of “show business,” she has problems really communicating issues. Therefore, she has trouble interacting with others on meaningful levels.
Charisma - She has the charm that most performers need in order to be successful.
Stamina - Her powers require a light source. Luckily, Labradorite has figured out how to store light in her gem though it doesn’t stop the fact that she needs to be conservative in how much power she uses.
Creativity - This relates to her power, intelligence, and stamina as well as her upbringing. In order to use her powers successfully, she needs to use it in creative ways. She also needed to be creative in order to fulfill her role as a performer. On the other hand, Labradorites are naturally creative gems.
Empathy - She is surprisingly empathetic at times as most blue gems are. On the flip-side, she can be very self-absorbed without meaning to.
Humor - Labradorite can often be found making a crude joke. She likes to laugh at her own jokes, even if no one finds it funny. Sometimes, you can find her giggling at nothing.
Discipline - She almost avoids any sort of disciplinary tendencies as she likes to spend time honing other skills. You will not often find her training but when she does it’s vigorous.
Intelligence - This stat relates to her creativity, power, and stamina. Not only does Labradorite need to be creative in how she uses her abilities, but intelligent about it too. She has a higher than average understanding of how things look and move which she uses to her advantage.
Perceptive - With her empathy and intelligence, she can make surprisingly accurate assessments of the situations and gems around her. She does not have future vision of any kind, though some Labradorites do claim to. (They don’t)
Luck - Labradorite likes to gamble and take chances a lot of the time. She isn’t a very “think first, act later” type of gem. She relies on her luck for a lot of her schemes and ideas, which will end up working on occasion.
Skill/Special - The ability to control light is due to the labradorescence of her gem. It is a very dangerous one since the bodies of gems are made of light. If Homeworld weren’t so careful, they’d create a practically unstoppable gem. However, they are extremely careful and have limited a lot of Labradorites’ abilities, including the ability to shape shift. If they were able to shape shift, they’d be able to create incredibly powerful bodies with excess light.
Spectrolites, a type of Labradorite, are able to absorb colors from the objects around them and use them as energy-- unlike Labradorites, who cannot. They can only absorb light from anything that emits it (i.e. the sun, fire, lamps, etc.) When they absorb light, they take it away for a few seconds. You will notice a room becoming dimmer when Labradorite is around as she is always passively absorbing light.
Despite these handicaps and limitations, Labradorite is an incredibly powerful gem and a master of trickery. When fighting, she will duplicate herself or become invisible (if only for a few seconds). Her bow creates arrows made out of condensed light energy. This energy is very volatile and explodes upon impact. If shot directly into a gem, it could destabilize them instantly.
The only trouble is that manifesting an arrow and charging it up costs a lot of energy, so Labradorite will often only shoot right next to enemy at the cost of her allies and the terrain around her. If she were to charge an arrow to the point she could not “hold it,” it would explode in her face and most likely poof her.
While she can’t absorb color, she can temporarily change the color of small objects. She is able to do it permanently but she will need a lot of energy stored up in order to do so. Labradorite can also see ultraviolet light and project holograms (in correct color I might add). If her gem is cracked, she can hold her form together but will be unable to use any of her other abilities.

She’s a big fan of human culture and likes to mingle with them. She likes to train with her weapon down by the beach and when she isn’t training, she’s lazing around either reading a book or watching the waves. She also has a mature streak and can be oddly wise at times. She is mischievous and silly but all in all a thottie she’s very reliable and a good asset to the team.
