FRIENDLY REMINDER NOT TO SHIP REZAHAR/KIFSAT!
Kifsat was ONLY interested in Resehar because she was older than him and had enough money for a credit. He was USING her so he could have children. He didn’t actually care about her. If you ship Rezahar/Kisfat you SUPPORT MANIPULATING PEOPLE INTO BUYING YOU KIDS and you’re probably a p//e////r/miss//ions system apologist.
Rezahar and Kifsat started out using one another - Kifsat using Rezahar for kids, Rezahar using Kifsat for emotional validation - and grew to love each other for real, that’s an interesting dynamic and says absolutely nothing about whether I support manipulating people into buying you kids.
(and of all the things you could call rezafat shippers apologists of, why permissions systems of all things? the show takes place in a credit country!)
“grew to love each other for real” ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME
If you actually WATCHED the show you would know that he was STILL manipulating her, STILL FORCING her to give him a baby. I guess that level of ignorance is what I’d expect from a purple.
And that sort of dynamic is CLEARLY emblematic of what you see in p//er/mis///si////ons systems. One person doesn’t really want to do something and the other one FORCES them to do it so they can have a BABY.
…the way babies work is that a couple has them together. But “two people both want babies, and one of them manipulates the other into actually having a baby together” just doesn’t sound scary enough, I guess.
How sure are you that your food isn't being delivered by ex-reds anyway?
I can’t check most of it. None of the restaurant supply grocers that serve my area offer verified purple-born-purple food handling farm to kitchen as a service. I’m looking into individually sourcing a handful of ingredients (I’m thinking eggs, flour, sugar, seasonal vegetables, salt, and maybe growing some herbs myself on the roof; that gets me several combinations) at higher prices directly from small producers that check up on their workers, or from Orvara. If that pans out I can have a dedicated set of pans and offer a couple of dishes at markup for particularly sensitive guests, but apart from that there’s no way for me to tell about most of the food.
I lean towards encouraging ex-red integration, but given that you’re doing this I’d like to point out that a lot of the smaller fishing groups are family owned with guaranteed born grey crew.
@onlycloudysky knows some people.
@tilt-me-just-right yeah I know some people pm me if you’re interested.
Oahkar motherfucker do you speak it
There’s no need for weird dysgenic suggestions!
(Why do people keep on telling me about their weird kinks in asks I am 3!)
If I might explain? There are several languages and dialects in which “motherfucker” is used as a harsh, insulting expletive but not necessarily an actual statement about their subject’s sexual proclivities. Anon is being very crude and probably thoughtless in not realizing how it might translate, but probably doesn’t actually mean it to come across as aggressively sexual as a purely literal translation might read.
Its also a reference to a cult classic crime movie about gangesters who die their hard black and fight the Oahk empire or something (it was pretty confusing) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a0x6vIAtFcI
screencaps from the latest new scum!! you guys i am so hyped for the new season~~~
(can’t believe they killed off kita though :((()
(also there is a HUGE PLOT TWIST but i will not spoil it (i really really want to though it is SUCH A THING OMG))
friendly reminder that if you try to get someone in trouble for ooci then you’re an asshole
Consequentialism, not deontology.
For fuck’s sake.
I am one of the many people who have been refraining from interacting with you since you spend tons of money trying to get people falsely convicted, but now I’m worried that since all sensible people are avoiding interacting with you your poor followers are going to think that your appalling and reprehensible conduct is more widely accepted than it is.
The consequences of bringing more frivolous OOCI lawsuits are that people who are doing legal and legitimate things are nonetheless put on notice that their lives will be ruined if they ever get on the bad side of a sufficiently petty and despicable blue.
The consequences of openly admitting that your purchased the prosecution of someone who you were mad at for unrelated reasons are that everyone loses confidence in the court system and the law, expects they can get their way if they have money and not otherwise, and is terrified in interactions with anyone who has the power to do that.
The consequences of succeeding at the thing you’re attempting to do are that random greys and oranges have their lives ruined - in one case over claiming they sent someone else anonymous harassment on the internet!!! That is a bad consequence! How can you possibly not understand that?
The consequences of dropping a ton of money to get someone in trouble for an internet argument are that people are frightened to interact with blues, and particularly frightened to interact with you, stifling discussion and disagreement and effectively destroying the existence of places on the internet where people can say “you are a despicable example of the worst blue inclinations towards casual abuse of power plus the total absence of any blue inclinations for priorities or common sense, and your existence is a profound indictment of the eugenics policies of the nation that issued your parents a credit”.
And, you know, sometimes that needs to be said.
Countries are in the practice of committing to deterring various actions by other countries with violence if necessary. They do that because there are tons of established procedures around the escalation from disagreement to violence and tons of people to mediate them, mitigating the harm this inherently causes. They also do that because they are mostly evil. Most wars are morally wrong, and not justified by the game theory that got us into them. You are not capable of emulating a nation in predictability, mediation or competence; you should not be aspiring to emulate them in willingness to resort to force to solve your problems.
Fuck you. And in particular fuck your concerted effort to make the internet a place where it is not safe for me to say that.
I agree with some of colorjustice’s points, but I disagree with calling this a concerted effort to make it unsafe to criticize or insult coloursofthenight. My impression is that they’ve reacted strongly to healthesick because, from their perspective, healthesick is murdering people (I happen to agree, I don’t know if you also think reds are people. In either case, the relevant part is coloursofthenight’s perspective). I do not think this is significant evidence for what they would do for arguments less serious than murder.
I believe that people should be able to say what they believe, and that efforts to silence people or declare certain ideas unexpressable are extremely bad. But killing is not speech. This seems to be about coloursofthenight wanting to prevent harmful actions, not censorship.
People are generally more willing to expend serious effort to prevent serious harm, which applies to people being murdered and does not apply to saying “fuck you” on the internet. I don’t think there’s yet a good reason to be afraid of issuing non-murder-related criticism. I would also not call this “casual abuse of power”.
I guess I don’t know for sure that he intended to suppress dissent, and it was slightly imprecise to say ‘concerted effort to make the internet unsafe’ when it’s more like ‘concerted effort to follow through on an approach to internet arguments which is having a huge effect in the direction of making the internet unsafe’. But he is, in fact, significantly suppressing speech, and that is by far the most significant effect of his shenanigans - if he’d succeeded at getting this orange arrested, the people commissioning her would have commissioned elsewhere.
As for the rest - no. If you believe something is murder, you may try to convince people not to do it. You may try to pay them not to do it. You may try to lobby to make it illegal for them to do it. You may try to change the social mores such that they are ostracized for doing it. You may not get them arrested on unrelated trumped-up charges. This is the essential compromise of living in a society - we resolve disagreements with debate and law, not with random private personal violence - and undermining it is really bad. If that rule had an exception for “but do it anyway if you think you have a really good reason”, then it doesn‘t exist as a rule at all, because everyone thinks they have a really good reason.
Also, do note that these prosecutions saved not one red. @coloursofthenight will probably say that the expected values worked out, but actually, no. False prosecutions are not a good way to advance your opinion about what is or is not murder or to protect people from would-be murderers, and it’s not a coincidence it didn’t work for that. It was never going to work. The only social change @coloursofthenight has achieved, or can possibly achieve with these methods, is in the suppressing-speech dimension. There are blues who share his reds opinions. They buy decontamination facilities.
I’m not an expert in Rivikni OOCI law, but extra-judicial killings does not intuitively strike me as an orange job, and although the judge ultimately ruled differently, I do think it was reasonable to question the “it’s therapeutic” explanation. If an orange recorded themselves programing or running a restaurant, or painted commissions for a client, and then the person paying them said “I find it therapeutic to see this occur”, I would also consider that a stretch.
I’m not clear on why you think many people are less willing to talk openly as a result of his actions (with the exception of people being less likely to admit to extra-judicial killings openly)?
@blues-lie
fishing regulations aren’t “protecting the commons”
THINK! we want to kill all the ants that invade houses, can we? NO! Not trying as hard as we can! We want to kill plant blights which DON’T EVEN MOVE and we can’t do THAT. killing the baravic rabbit infestation was an ENORMOUS PROJECT which cost MILLIONS
how could we POSSIBLY deplete fish populations
we would catch some (not all!) of the fish (because fish MOVE AROUND), and then the remaining fish will BREED and have a lot of space and food because their competitors are being eaten!
blues are COLLUDING ON FISHING REGULATIONS to keep fish EXPENSIVE so they can eat it and you and I can’t afford it
SUPPORT FISH PIRACY. IGNORE THEIR LIES.
… this is the most hilarious thing i’ve ever read
More like the stupidest
(by bdorts)
How stupid can you be? Belief in predicting the future from songs or animals was abandoned centuries ago, because science is reliable and fucking oysters are not.
I’m really not here to defend my habits, but far be it for me to pass up a chance to spread knowledge to my fellow man.
Let’s start with what everyone agrees on. It’s well-known that animals like cats and dogs can sense earthquakes and volcanoes before people do. They pick up the small vibrations in Amenta’s crust, and they can tell long before we do when something isn’t quite right. Seismometers are more accurate, of course, but they’re also more limited; they can only sense messed up vibes Amenta’s crust, while cats and dogs can also sense disturbances in the atmosphere and in the people around them (I’m sure you’ve noticed that some dogs are able to predict when their owners are about to come home).
But cats and dogs are still pretty limited. Their senses might be sharper than ours, but they’ve got a lot going on in their heads, and it distracts them. They’re not purely reactive beings. Like us, they have their own personalities and favorite foods and weird day plans and stuff, and all of that limits their ability to make accurate predictions. If it’s less significant than a volcano or an earthquake, odds are your cat is as clueless as you are about it.
You know what doesn’t have a lot going on in its head? An oyster. Oysters don’t even have heads. They’re about as close as you’re going to get to a purely reactive being that still can react to stimuli in a timely manner, other than maybe a sea urchin. Sea urchins are actually probably better, but people don’t really eat sea urchins, so there aren’t really any urchin farms to use for data collection.
Anyway, oysters are reacting to the same things that cats and dogs are–vibrations, firstly, but also temperature changes, sea water and soil composition changes, and the quality of their food. And because they’re very specialized creatures that only have to worry about simple stimuli like that, their evolution has been a lot more focused on that, and not on, like, the best strategy for catching mice or the best way to get rid of a particular customer without losing your job. So when I look at oyster behavior, I’m letting them do all the hard work of interpreting that environmental stimuli, and I’m able to get out basic information about what the coming seasons are going to be like, especially in terms of environment change and weather patterns.
The songs work on the same principle, but they give you a broader scope of information at the cost of decreased accuracy. Even though people have a lot of things that go into their music preferences, those preferences are also affected by much deeper subconscious beliefs than, say, our preferences in movies or sports teams. There’s never been an Amentan culture that didn’t have music. It’s basic for us, far more basic than speech. The level on which a song moves you is a lower level than the level on which you reason about who you should vote for, or the level on which you decide which people you want for friends or partners. If you want to get at the information that we’ve subconsciously collected about our expectations for the really basic things that go into our happiness as people, songs preferences are a good place to look.
Of course, individual people are still pretty bad at predicting things, so you can’t get any good data unless you look at what really large groups of people are doing. That’s why you have to look at popularity levels, and on another level, why you have to look at music. You could probably get even better information from, say, a database of dreams, but the corporations don’t really keep track of those, while they obsessively track the number of downloads and plays of different songs.
Anyway, I definitely agree with you that science is an important tool for learning about the world around us, including its past and its future. But the thing is that the world has a lot of moving parts, and the parts of the world that most concern us have a shitton of moving parts. I’m not gonna ask a physicist to predict the results of the next election, even though technically it all comes back to physics. There’s just too much information. The song charts process a lot of that information for us, in however haphazard a way, and it’s a lot easier to extrapolate the future of a country when you’re looking at the trajectory of large groups of people than when you’re looking at large groups of atoms, you feel me?
Stay cool, anon.
Afen Kisantami is secretly green.
Afen Kisantami is allegedly the son of Fen Neli, a prominent Anitami blue. Anitam is patrilineal, so if his claim of fatherhood were true then it would make Afen blue as well.
However, Afen is well-known to have attended a green university, to draw his income from green jobs, and to have bought green credits for his children. If he were really blue, then this would be a massive violation of the law – and you can bet that Fen Neli’s political rivals would jump on the opportunity to take him down a notch or two. Why haven’t they? Because anyone who tries is made aware of what’s really going on.
Afen Kisantami is the bastard son of his wife Miliel Thelinte with a green man. Fen paid for the credit and chose to pretend that Afen was his son, to avoid embarrassment. Because the truth is merely embarrassing, not damaging, it’s more readily suppressed with ordinary amounts of backroom political pressure.
All the facts are there for you to see. You only have to put together the implications for yourself.
So, uh, what do you think is going on with Aitim Neli?
Carrying on the family tradition.
(And, incidentally, providing further evidence: if the claimed genealogy were true, his husband would be his first cousin. Given that blues secretly have the technology to combine genetic material from same-sex couples – see my earlier post – it’s not exactly the most eugenic match.)
Just checking, by this you mean ‘Nertel Istalni slept with some blue and got pregnant’ yes?
…That’s sure a lot of overlapping coverup you have going on there.
(”secretly have the technology to combine genetic material from same-sex couples” yeah I wish.)
Two coverups in two generations is nowhere near a lot, among blues.
Yeah I mean just look at s3.
Dak has locked himself in his room again, because apparently sometimes creative geniuses need to be alone with their thoughts. I’m sure he’ll come out when he gets sick of eating the potatoes we’re leaving him, but in the meantime, it would be a bit challenging to record anything without him.
I think I’m gonna make another doll outfit.
The oysters are upset.
I’m not an expert, but I think it’s going to be a bad winter. The popularity of Lowan’s “Uptight” suggests that they’re not reacting to an expected rash of poor weather. It seems more likely to be something to do with the government, or possibly something to do with public health.
Guess we’ll be stockpiling. We should still have enough money for a credit on top of that.
Do they say anything about more seasons for “Clear Skys Forever”. Btw I know some people in the oyster biz if you need help getting data.
All hail Entis queen of the yellows. But seriously that was a nice way to handle a half blue.
ooh, I don’t actually watch the show, but I’ve been hearing a lot about it, what did they do?
Its kinda hard to explain without spoilers or already knowing the show; but the basic idea is that she has taken over her school by a mix of charming the hair off of everybody and playing off two different groups of students against each other and the teachers in an obvious parallel of the main plot.
