I saw a 1837 obituary say that a woman left behind “two interesting children” am wondering if that was an insult to her kids or they were genuinely cool

haters do not want you to know this but if you pick up something heavy every day it will eventually stop being quite as heavy. this is because the heavy thing, having witnessed your dedication, begins to yield its essence to you. and you, in turn, begin to absorb that essence into your own being. this is what makes people strong. the more essence you absorb, the stronger you become, and the more respect you command from the world around you.
i get where you're coming from, but that was a very significant thing that happened in the story

they should make a pill that makes people in their 20s feel good about where their lives are going
Impressive to me that no one said the same thing twice
I was born in the exact right generation I love being an unmarried woman in my twenties with my own bank account and no children
This getting reblogged with “and my thirties” “and my forties” “and my fifties”
I used the phrase "waiting on tenterhooks" and then thought "what the hell is a tenterhook".
It's these things! So when you're waiting on tenterhooks, you're stretched tight like a piece of cloth. Very evocative, now that I know what it means.
like 40% of english idioms are just Textiles Again
Cloverfield (2008)
I genuinely think the phrase "which could mean nothing" was the turning point for rpf winning the war on rpf. We owe everything to those 4 words 🫡
Father John Yogurt was defrocked from the clergy today for being asexual, following a papal ruling that "vows of chastity don't count without temptation." The Pope later commented "You gotta have that dog in you"
Coming out to nii-san
i wish drawing was a real thing that you could actually do
Does this count as finding a walrus at your door?
Absolutely, and definitely less surprising than a fairy
I will concede, in this specific circumstance, it makes more sense
