I do not condone smoking, nor think it’s cool to condone every type of it, so don’t think I’m trying to glorify it dear tumblr folks! This a just a funny ol’ thought experiment. Is it accurate? Probably not! It’s FICTION!

I procrastinated on note taking and took too long to research how smoking and fish gills work so here this is… @pancaketron

BUT- For the thought process, I would personally say the first option. The smoke passes in through the mouth, and out through capillaries in the gills. It basically passes through the same opening anyway.

Since gills essentially function like lungs, the second one would probably be like putting a cigarette directly on your trachea or in the lungs or something. That hurts dude.

Third, but also more cursed option- At least 1% of nicotine (thought the blunt was a cigarette at first glance) is passed through second hand smoke, you could technically blow or waft that smoke into the gills?? Which is… gross… and won’t give you a nicotine high.

Artie would probably put whatever up his gills though (no double entendres here lmao- that man is something)
