sorry this was late ;_; but happy holidays @perried!! i come bearing high school au chrisginny & anderperry as part of the @dps-gift-exchanges, including but not limited to dramatics misunderstandings and incredulous amounts of pining. i hope you enjoy it as much as i did writing it!! ^_^
💫 rumour has it
general audiences | words: 2 907
“You scored big time, Perry! She’s perfect for our captain.” “Yeah, you two look great together!” “I’m sorry-” Neil laughs incredulously, “who the hell am I dating, exactly?” (or; rumour has it that star athlete Neil Perry and cheer team captain Chris Noel are dating. Rumour couldn’t be further from the truth.)

DPS Gift Exchange!
My gift for @sapphicnoel!
time after time
Meeks and Pitts try their hand at matchmaking their friends, Todd and Neil. Although both parties turn down their offers of blind dates, Meeks and Pitts end up inviting them to a charity gala in hopes the two will meet organically (as organic as it can get, at least). However, there’s more to the story than what meets the eye.
Playlist I listened to while writing
Sorry this is after Christmas! I got hit with a bad fever this week, I planned it to be longer but I hope you still enjoy :) Happy holidays and have a happy new year!!! Love ur username btw

DPS Gift Exchange!
For @movielp-pany, happy holidays!!!
Ridgeway, 1968
Ginny Danburry returns to Ridgeway and meets Chris Noel again.
This fic does deal with heavy themes such as brief mention of Neil’s death and some period-typical homophobia/internalized homophobia, it’s not central to the story but factors into the yearning!
Includes an appendix, which can be viewed on my neocities for extra formatting (although it's very basic html), or on the next chapter. Please be warned it does mention a main character's death (not Chris or Ginny) but it does not go into detail
Here's a playlist I listened to while writing, although it's unorganized and wasn't originally part of the gift, thought I might share it!
Thank you to @dps-gift-exchanges for organizing and being so communicative and patient!!

hi!!!!!
welcome welcome! i'm planning on hosting a dps gift exchange in the fall/winter and i'll be posting about that over the next couple months
how it'll work:
you'll fill out a form and let me know a few things, including: what characters/pairings you want in your gift, what form of gift you'd prefer, any characters/pairings you really don't want in your gift or to make a gift about, and what form of gift you'll be making. in terms of gift form, right now i'm thinking of visual art, writing, playlist, moodboard, or edit/video. (let me know if you think i'm missing anything that i should add!) sign-ups will probably be in october, and gifts will probably be shared towards the end of december
i'm just getting things up and running here, but go ahead and follow this account for more updates. dm me or send an ask if you have any questions!! (or send a dm or an ask to my main account, @yawping-poets-society)
i'm going to tag a ton of people who might be interested in this below the cut; if you're not interested, feel free to ignore this post/account, i won't be offended
again, if you are interested, please follow!!

The Martian! DPS AU out of context, part 2
So when I hit 50k in this AU I did part 1 over here. And - guess what - I just wrote the final words of the epilogue! A Cosmic Sense is officially a complete draft! Of course, that doesn't mean it's finished; there's about 115k of words I now have to sift through, add missing scenes to, edit for tone, etc etc etc. But it's finally done - the longest fic I've written yet. I'm super excited to share it in a couple of weeks, but in the meantime please accept this AU out of context, part 2, electric boogaloo:
it's wip wednesday!
In the light of the UK Supreme Court backsliding the fight for trans rights by years, I think we could all do with a little bit of joy (or at least something to take the mind off it). Here is Todd being an annoying little brother and worming Jeff's relationship status out of him.
(P.S. If you can, consider donating to UK trans charities like TransActual and Mermaids. It's getting pretty rough out here.)
Robert Sean Leonard on meeting up with Ethan Hawke at the White Horse Tavern:
"We'd meet at White Horse Tavern at two in the morning because Ethan would call and say, "I figured something out about Romeo and Juliet. You have to come down here!" You think you're the center of the world. That was my favorite time in my life."
"You are the center of the universe, and you meet Ethan Hawke at 2 in the morning at the White Horse Tavern to discuss 'Romeo and Juliet' because it feels that important."
I love that he used the phrase 'full of beans.' Never heard of that until now.
I think about this so often
Ethan Hawke about a scene that never made it into Dead Poets Society, from BAFTA's A Life in Pictures, December 2014
I’ve never had another director do this where he said, “Okay, I need a scene in the movie where you two become friends, where I see you two becoming friends, and I want you to get together and write me three three-page scenes that take place inside your dorm room, and we’ll shoot one of them.” ... so Robert Sean Leonard and I went back and we’re like, “We have to write this scene, what are you talking about?” And we really worked hard on it, and you know we stayed up all night for three or four days and we wrote three versions of the scenes, one of which [Peter Weir] did shoot. And it’s not in the movie, and I don’t think it ever was going to be in the movie, but we became friends you know ... And funnily enough, five years later ... NBC was gonna air Dead Poets Society right, and he needed to add four minutes to the movie for the commercial breaks, you know it’s the kind of thing that they don’t do any more. And he called us both up and he says, “It made the cut.” You know, “You were one of the last to go,” and he said, “I always wanted that scene to be in the movie, and now it’s back in the movie.” And so we watched it on NBC and we saw our scene.
did someone say happy and healthy Todd and Jeff sibling relationship!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He wouldn't have left us. He wouldn't have. // Jackie, wake up! No! No, Jackie, wake up!
