Where is the lie?
There are people who dislike you because you do not dislike yourself.

stop telling girls with thick thighs that they shouldnât wear light wash jeans because theyâre âunflattering.â stop telling short girls that they shouldnât wear high-waisted jeans because they make them look shorter. stop telling girls with big thighs to stay away from baggy clothes and boyfriend jeans. stop telling petite girls they canât wear capris. stop telling telling tall girls to avoid wearing heels so they wonât âintimidateâ people. stop telling skinny girls to only wear tops that give them the illusion of having hips. stop telling girls with big boobs to avoid shirts and dresses without a waist. stop telling chubby girls to stay away from patterns and horizontal stripes. stop telling girls with cellulite to wear long shorts. stop telling short girls to wear heels and vertical stripes to make themselves look taller. stop telling pale girls they canât wear warm colors and stop telling dark girls they canât wear cool colors. stop telling girls to be ashamed of their body type.
an important piece of advice for future parents:
donât insult your kidâs weight
donât insult your kidâs weight
donât insult your kidâs weight
just donât even comment on it
your kid is well aware of their weight
just donât do it
donât insult your own weight in front of your kids
donât insult your partnerâs weight in front of your kids
donât insult anyoneâs weight in front of your kids, jesus christ!
(or, you know, just stop insulting peopleâs weight in general, but like the above are a bare minimum).
my thighs are sooo big but thats ok bc that means more room for my dog to sit on my lap

On success
When it comes to success, I think there are a couple of things that are really important. Firstly, your locus of control. Locus of control is defined as follows:
A locus of control orientation is a belief about whether the outcomes of our actions are contingent on what we do (internal control orientation) or on events outside our personal control (external control orientation).
(Zimbardo, 1985)
In life there is only a small percentage of things we have control over. One of the most important things we have control over, is our response to adversity. It is easy to decide that life happens to you, it is just the way things are, and it is never going to change. Fatalism is a trap. This is called an âexternal locus of controlâ, or a âlife happens to meâ kind of mentality. This should be your worst enemy. Even when adversity hits, you have control over how you react. If you fail an exam, it is quite possible that you havenât revised enough. If you have a shit job, it is absolutely up to you to find something else or suffer through it until you do. If you want to be successful, you have to take control of your own fate.
Secondly, self-efficacy is important.
Self-efficacy refers to an individualâs belief in his or her capacity to execute behaviors necessary to produce specific performance attainments. Self-efficacy reflects confidence in the ability to exert control over oneâs own motivation, behavior, and social environment. (x)
Self-efficacy is important, because believing you can achieve something is the foundation of success. When it come to mathematics, we fall prey to an âI am not a maths person so I will never become good at mathsâ mentality. Research suggests that there is no such thing as a maths person, and that maths ability is largely created with hard work, and not innate. The most important thing is to believe you can do something. When you are weighing whether or not you can do something, bias towards the âI canâ side of the scale. This gives you more leeway and creates more confidence. When you have people around you with strong self-efficacy, it can also lead to more self-efficacy in yourself.Â
And finally, I think it is important to take opportunities. People have their own lives, and a lot of other things to spend time on so donât be rude and imprudent when someone gives you an opportunity. Take the opportunities that present themselves. Remember the opportunities people gave you once you have your own success. Give on. Donât ask for help when you are perfectly capable of solving a problem yourself. Try to be as self-sufficient as you can be. Rely on yourself. You are more capable than you think you are.
