There is something I've always been curious about Lagnus Bishashi.

When the Compile had the right to Puyo Puyo, his name was written as Lagnus, but is it correct to write Ragnus now?

I'm having trouble knowing which tags are appropriate to use on Tumblr🤔

By the way, both are read as ラグナス(ragunasu) in Japanese, so it's a problem that Japanese fans are not very aware of.

Officially, he was translated to "Ragnus" in Puyo Puyo Champions (eSports) and Puyo Puyo Tetris 2. Doing some minor research, his name is probably based on "Ragnar", a Norse name meaning "warrior", so "Ragnus" is probably the correct spelling. (and I'm saying this as a person who personally prefers how "Lagnus" sounds as a name)

Because Japanese doesn't differentiate between L and R like English does, it's very understandable that it was once translated as "Lagnus", both by official sources and fanworks, especially because the connection to "Ragnar" is not immediately obvious.

Generally, English-speaking fans will use the newer official translations for character names. For example, Rulue's name was once translated as "Lulu" because of the R/L confusion, but all the new official translations use "Rulue", and so English-speaking fans call her Rulue.

However, the name "Lagnus" is pretty well-known in the English-speaking fandom, since it was used by most fan translations before the official translations came out, and his name change is pretty recent. "Lagnus" also has the benefit of being very unique and identifiable. There are multiple characters from other media who are called "Ragnus", but only Puyo Puyo has a "Lagnus".

My verdict is that, while tagging "Ragnus" is probably "correct", you should not be looked down upon if you tag him as "Lagnus". If you still have doubts, you can always just use both!

So my drawing computer got infected with malware, and after the cleaning my drawing tablet was de-synced. So I’ll be markering until I figure out what to do. ...who is, from what I can tell doing my own research, is "around the age of falling in love" according to Puyo~n's manual... so, anywhere from 16 to 18. this does not help me to form an accurate timeline.
