Fitness Friday Oct 6
This week felt like a year, to be honest. With nothing going according to schedule, I wasnât able to research any classes this week. But with beautiful, warmer than usual temperatures, we did get a lot of walking in...even if one did result in everyone having a melt down by the time we got home...but I digress... I finally have my Wii set up, and have found my dvds so I donât really have an excuse to not attempt some yoga again...wish me luck!
Fitness Friday
This passed week was rather uneventful on the fitness front. I didnât attend any classes, didnât go for a run, didnât even pretend to plan anything resembling fitness. I did go for a few walks, varying between 1 and 5 km at a time. I attempted a pull up while at the park with the boy - attempted being the key word! Since my whole plan of âjust do itâ doesnât really seem to be working, Iâm definitely going to have to start planning things. Iâm not sure if I am going to start going to a class, or if Iâm just going to start setting aside time each day to work out, but I know I have to start scheduling it or it is never going to happen. So tonight and tomorrow Iâm going to look at drop in classes, free work out videos and Pinterest some work out routines.  Have a fitness suggestion? send me a message and Iâll share your info here (if you want)
Fitness Friday
well, my plans for the week were shot to hell with labor day closures, getting a small cold and some pretty yucky rainy days, I did not get to the gym. not once. but I did walk around 15-20 km this week through going to the park and library. So that should count for something, right?
SMOOTHIE SATURDAY no new cup this week, just used an old one with a handle. Â Iâll find a new smoothie cup soon inside this weekâs smoothie yogurt coconut water Frozen banana Frozen mixed berries and cherries It was good, a little tart from the cherries, and totally lacking anything but sugar. But still. Â Iâm slowly getting back on the smoothie train. Â Next weekâs smoothie is going to have....kale....wish me luck!
Fitness Friday - Sept 1
Friday again, and I have something written and ready on time! Yay me! But, it was easy to get something written for this week.  By Tuesday evening I had already walked almost 10km just taking my little guy to and from the parks and library. I guess youâd call it one of the âperksâ of not having a car! With #awesomehusband back to work this week, using the car, the boy and I have gone back to walking and public transit for our adventures - and my legs and back are reminding me how lazy I was this summer!  Thank heavens for rainy days where we can just watch a movie on repeat all day while snuggled on the couch.  I think they are called recovery days. I also managed to score another 2 week pass to our local sportsplex through our library, so there are dreams of going to the pool with the boy this week, and maybe a couple of yoga classes, if my body agrees!  I want to take advantage of it, but the timing just kinda sucks right now. What have you been doing to stay active this week? Pro tip for next week: Take the stairs up to kill time and calories if you are at your destination early, or take the stairs down for a few mintues of quite time.  Either way you get your blood moving more than if you were in the elevator, and if you enjoy it, you could eventually make a habit of it! I used to try and do this when we lived in an apartment, but then when we had the baby and had a stroller and stuff - so much stuff - for said baby, taking the stairs was a bit more of a hassle.  Now we are in a house and I work from home, so itâs only a real option when we go out to socialize or for appointments.
Smoothie Saturday
Well, this weekâs smoothie Saturday doesnât have a photo....because of a kind of silly reason. I didnât have a cup or glass that I considered pretty enough to photograph. See? silly, I know.  But I donât like having logos or pictures on my cups in my photos, and my last âplainâ glass broke, so no photographic cups. Now I have to buy a nice glass for smoothies at some point in the next couple of days or there will be no photos for next week either. and with no photos, you canât see how pretty these yummy smoothies are! This weeks smoothie was pretty basic, but still pretty yummy. Inside: coconut water cantaloupe yogurt frozen mixed berries & cherries. It was pretty purple colour, but youâll have to take my word for it.
fitness friday aug 25
as the summer slowly comes to an end, weâre starting to get into fall mode here.  And that means back to work for #awesomehusband, who had a few weeks off between contracts to just laze around.  A summer vacation, if you will. So, since we have been lazing all summer, we havenât been keeping to a schedule on anything, including our fitness time. (fitness time? What fitness time?) As #awesomehusband heads back to work, we are back on a schedule, meaning weekly family nature walks {if nature allows}, regular trips to the pool and the possibility of attending a regular yoga class for me. Weâre not going to do everything instantly, but we do have a plan for getting back to an active, healthy lifestyle without too much shock to our systems! ha! And all of that means that my Fitness Friday posts will actually be about fitness! and on Fridays! on a regular basis at a regular time!  woo hoo! But for this week, weâre just making plans and enjoying our last little time together (read: trying not to kill each other because weâve spent too much time together... hahaha)
I got in under the wire! Fitness Friday! I didnât do a hell of a lot this week because we took a mini vacation midweek to visit family. Â But I did mow the lawn when it was slightly wet, so that ainât nothing. Â Iâll get back on my regularish scedule of posting in September, when normal routines resume. Until then, Happy last little bit of summer!
Fitness....Saturday....again
I know, I know. I keep saying Iâll be better and then Iâm not. But at least I keep trying! This week I didnât spend a lot of time on fitness, per say, but I did spend a lot of time being active. We went on a long family nature walk (about 2.5 km), walked to and around the park a few times, and *finally* finished painting our stupid big deck. I spent a lot of time in the sun and fresh air, and absolutely loved it. This coming week we are having a short family vacation, and I plan on doing lots of walking, maybe a little biking and a lot of sleeping. What are your fitness goals for the week?

Fitness...Saturday?
Well, I missed writing about Fitness Friday again. I always seem to remember that Iâve forgotten to write something just as I am falling asleep...I guess it is time to move my notebook to somewhere more obvious so I will remember to write earlier in the day! and on that note, I did do some âfitnessâ this week.  Although most people wouldnât call it that. I mowed the lawn, which is a good hour of walking, and that mower isnât light!  That is a lot of pushing and pulling! Iâve also worked on painting my deck.  I always thought I had a medium-large deck.....now I feel like it is enormous.  Too big.  Far too much painting done, and still far too much to do.  ugh. And Iâve taken the boy on the a couple of early morning walks, before it gets too hot. All in all, it was a hot week without any fun workouts, but at least I am still getting outside and getting active! what are you doing to get outside this summer?

Iâve been slacking on posting again.....oops, sorry. I have a schedule written down for what I want to write and when, but I just havenât been spending as much time in my office working as I want to be. Part of my office avoidance is because it is hot as Hades in our little metal box of a house, making it pretty uncomfortable to sit in front of the computer for hours on end researching and writing.  The other reason I havenât been around is because I have just been âdoing other stuffâ - work around the house, prepping for holiday markets (yes, preparing for CHRISTMAS markets....in JULY. UGH) and just spending time together as a family.  A mini stay cation, I guess.  But it is back to the grindstone on Monday, as I start gearing up for market season again, which means I have to get back on track with my eating in order to keep up with the demands of work.  My garden hasnât exactly worked out, with few of the seed and seedlings taking root, but I do have one kale plant that is thriving.  This is a bit of motivation to have my green smoothies, eat my good foods so I can keep feeling good.  Plus #awesomehusband wonât forgive me if I waste the one vegetable that did survive my gardening attempts. So look for regularly schedule posts again, on a variety of topics.  I may even start an Instagram feed for all of my smoothie and meal photos, who knows! But for now, itâs not yet Monday, so I am going to go enjoy my last little free time and read my book in the sunshine. and humidity.
