from the abhorrent sex crimes in south korea, to femicide in the united kingdom, to women and girls in afghanistan losing the right to be seen and heard in public. misogyny is the most prevalent form of oppression around the world, yet, is the one that is the least taken seriously by governments and society as a whole.
The only behavior I wish women would copy from men is caring less about people's feelings. I am not talking about family or friends, but literally strangers screaming demands at us. One of the reasons why women's issues are so much more policed than men's is because we are so easy to guilt-trip. We care so much about being liked and seeing as good women that we are letting people step on us. It's time to have more pride and less forced empathy.
"How many Einsteins have spent their lives washing dishes? How many Mozarts bent over stoves instead of pianos, because they had the misfortune of being born a woman?" Is such a raw fucking line you'd expect it to come from some huge feminist piece of literature from the 1970s but nuh uh it's from a random funkyfrogbait YouTube video
It's actually Virginia Woolf, A room of one's own
“Look at this dumbass terf who cant even tell the difference between rape on video and acting. Like I think we would know if the actress was actually being raped for my cnc porn!”
“Woah did you guys know that actress Shelley Duval was actually being tortured while she was playing the role of Wendy from The Shining?? I would have never known, but those tears and exhausted looks were all real!! I thought she was a really good actress but it turns out the director had been abusing her and overworking her to the point of mental break! Isn’t this a fun tidbit of cinema history!”
And this is why we should normalize sex work and make it safer for the actors and workers, and not criminalize sex work or the purchase of porn and sex :)
Crazy that acting was illegal when the shining was made and thats why she was abused.
LOL I don't think you understand what I'm saying so I'm going to expand a bit more.
Because sex work is illegal (for example, prostitution) there aren't systems in place to protect sex workers. No one has to do background checks, there is no one that can stand outside of a room to make sure everyone stays safe, nothing is in place to make sure that people are forced to pay for sexual services, etc.
Think of it as a private kink club. Background checks, lists of what's ok and what's not ok, panic buttons, paid membership, etc. There are regulations that are put in place by staff and the owners that ensure that everyone can be as safe as possible even in sexual settings.
Also just because one industry doesn't keep their workers safe doesn't mean that another industry shouldn't work to make the first step into protecting their workers. Even typing that out sounds absolutely idiotic. We should work on making ALL jobs safer, whether that's acting or sex work.
How would you enforce ppe and osha regulations and right to work regulations in this set up?
"goddess" "matriarchy" "female wisdom" girl your civic rights
“But I didn’t and still don’t like making a cult of women’s knowledge, preening ourselves on knowing things men don’t know, women’s deep irrational wisdom, women’s instinctive knowledge of Nature, and so on. All that all too often merely reinforces the masculinist idea of women as primitive and inferior – women’s knowledge as elementary, primitive, always down below at the dark roots, while men get to cultivate and own the flowers and crops that come up into the light. But why should women keep talking baby talk while men get to grow up? Why should women feel blindly while men get to think?”
— Ursula K. Le Guin
The world of medicine is deeply patriarchal, with so many biases against women both as patients and healthcare providers. Statistics reveal that women are 32% more likely to die during surgery when a male surgeon is performing, and they often face dismissal in emergency rooms compared to male patients. While having 15% higher chances of survival if a female surgeon performed the surgery. Also, some medical schools in the US allow male students to perform pelvic exams on unconscious women without consent, with male doctors claiming they don’t want to risk a “no.” This reduces women to mere subjects for study, stripping away our autonomy and dignity, a pure violation of our bodies.
Female doctors also face a lot of systemic barriers. For instance, my colleague’s mom, a leading cardiologist in Ontario, faced attacks after reporting a male physician for sexual misconduct. Instead of support, she was punished by losing her ability to perform CCTA, medicine men protect one another at the expense of women’s careers. While 90% of new gynecology graduates are women, there are still men who feel entitled to this field. It’s crucial to remember medicine’s long history of bias and misogyny including the dismissal of women’s health issues as “female hysteria.” As women continue to prove their capabilities as doctors, it’s time for the medical system to reflect that truth and prioritize women’s health and leadership first.
Do you hate being perceived or do you hate being judged, sexualized, and threatened?
The fact that some tumblr user claimed that period cramps are “the body trying to kill the uterus” and so many ppl ran w it only reflects the extreme medical misogyny that places itself securely in the public consciousness.
only sharing if you're interested in blocking someone who is a trumper
I will never get over the fact that theres a rather large group of people who not only think that snoop dogg is a cute family friendly celebrity but also that jk Rowling is evil and too problematic to even be referenced anywhere
The absolute disgust I felt reading this…so fucking disrespectful
Also you shouldn’t be allowed to have any children if you refer to other kids as “strays.”
Gay moids can be incredibly misogynistic. Let's put aside the entitlement for a child.
How are you gonna make your own baby? "I shoudnt be forced to take in someone's..." And a woman shoudnt be forced to carry a child. It's mostly poor women that opt for surrogacy.
And societal shortcomming? Huh? It's not society's problem that you were not born a woman who could gestate a baby. You're not entitled to a child, you're not entitles to force a woman to go through pregnancy.
Not to mention, The current idea, is that gay animals take orphans in the community to make the species survive. Idk if it's true And I'm against using a nature to justify people's actions bc humans are Able to make their own decisions, If that is true, this post is really ironic.
men truly do believe that their suffering is the only suffering that matters. they view women's suffering as either completely obsolete, a joke, or jerk-off material. i'm sick of it. all these people who whine about "men's mental health" can rot.
Crazy how there's dozens of famous female child stars who are well known to have been overworked and abused from a young age but not one of them is known to become an abusive partner to a minor. Crazy how Liam Payne (and Drake Bell) have been mass forgiven for the harm they created because uwu these boys were overworked and abused, that means they ended up renacting the violence they experienced onto others!!!
I have friends where I feel Ill be quitting the friendship over this soon. They always go boohoo the cirlce of abuse victim to abuser is real, but when I ask them then why do we have more male abusers when we at the same time, have more female abuse victims? The math aint mathing. They can not explain to me how more men end up abusing, but they give me these postmodern rants that dont make any sense, and really Im so over these excuses for abusers. I have had it.
Dead ass. Remember when the little girls on Dance Moms were developing eating disorders, getting stalkers, had a pedo working on set, had racist remarks made against the black children, and were overworked for years without anyone caring? Or how many Disney Channel teen actresses and actors now have serious mental health issues because of the stress they were out under? How about Jeanette McCurdy living through Hell under her mother and dealing with Dan 'use children to act out my foot fetish' Schneider?
^ now there are tons of people who think jojo siwa is a worse abuser than Johnny Depp for the allegations towards her dance group despite Johnny actually being a convicted abuser.

women have been conditioned to believe our oppression is “over”. I have had friends tell me they had “forgot” that misogyny even still existed. misogyny is there, every single day in society. our society has been built upon the very foundations of misogyny, of hate and oppression of women. don’t let anyone tell you that women and men are equal now and there’s nothing to be fighting against. we are still fighting.
