Related to the post where you stop your own wedding to run away with the TWST boys, but this time the main protagonist is my favorite beast man and the adorable Gidel.
"Well, ladies and gentlemen, time for the main star of the day to have a moment of peace... me and my trusted companion will assure the safety of Y/N ourselves, rest assured of it! So, if you all will excuse us..."
You don't know who is more confused: you, too busy staring at the beast man next to you to think about anything else, or the guests who saw the same beast man appearing out of thin air - because this is the way of Honest. And just at the thought of it you could start smiling, and laughing, and sobbing under the first tears rolling down your cheeks.
Only the kind tug at your sleeve blocks the incoherent flow of words ready to leave your mouth; and when you lower your surprised gaze, you meet the big eyes of Gidel silently asking to follow him, to get away from everything you are doing wrong - now that nothing is over yet.
You don't know why these two - they, out of everyone - are here right now, on this day... the right moment where you are hating yourself; the right moment after you realized how wrong you were and hesitated on your wedding vows.
Or are they here because they knew the truth, the reality of your heart, from the start?
You don't spend another moment there; you grab one hand of the foxy silver-tongued man you called your lover for hundredth time in the past, your legs need no input to start moving and follow Gidel, to run... and the next thing you know, the wedding and the guests, the ceremony and all the flowers, the whole facade is far, far away. You are in a place you don't recognize, breathing heavily for the long run, your hair once carefully arranged now messy and the wedding clothes showing some wrinkles.
And you are still managing to laugh nervously.
"Well, at least all of it was worth the show..."
You turn to look at Fellow, who is not that exhausted by the run like you are, and let out a chuckle. "Y-yes... I have to say... it was worth it. And I have to add... I missed these moments." You catch a long breath, and sigh. "Last time we spoke... damn, it seems like ages... you didn't tell me you were going to be at my wedding. If I don't remember wrong, you swore you didn't want to see me anymore."
The beast man turns the gaze away, his usual confidence slipping just slightly, and you don't miss the knowing smile crossing the face of Gidel. "Yes, I remember the same thing. However, we... we were just curious to see you in wedding clothes. No else."
You clearly feel a heavy blush creeping on your cheeks, and clear your throat. "... No else, right. Well, don't leave me hanging: how do I look?"
"Hmmmm..." Honest takes a theatrical pause before speaking, and not before hitting you with one of his insufferable smirks. But you'll always love them no matter what. "You are bordering on the ridiculous."
Of course. "Eh... since here the expert is you, I guess I only have to believe you."
"Indeed! Better if you get rid of these rags. For real, my precious, they don't suit you."
"... But they would, if you were the one I was going to tell my vows to."
The silence speaks for him, for both. And suddenly, you are too tired of pretending, of hiding yourself under convenient lies. "... I'm an idiot - a huge one. I should have stayed by your side, and had the courage to follow my heart. Instead, I made you and myself suffer. And probably... I've burned all my chances to get things right. Haven't I?"
Gidel and Fellow exchange a single glance, then the latter sighs so comically you cannot hold back a smile in response. It's simply natural. "You are soooo melodramatic, Y/N, it's a waste of talent keeping it all for yourself! And despite having such beautiful and bright eyes... how blind are you?"
You are stopped in your speech by Gidel, who suddenly lunges forward and hugs your waist with all the strength into his little body; and you don't have the time to be surprised, because the moment the kid releases you, Honest encircles your shoulders with an arm, and his lips touches one of your cheeks in a kiss that ends too quickly. The shiver that runs down your back tells the world everything that must be told.
And when the fox taps your forehead and you regain some of your composure, you are safe from a greater embarrassment.
"Sweet pearl, you know... I'm not saying you didn't make your mistakes, but I did mine too. Like, waiting till today to come and drag you away from your own foolishness. But since you finally realized I am the best for you, we can call it a start, right?"
"... Yes. I see some wisdom here."
"Wonderful! And the next step is changing these clothes in something mo-"
This time you are the one who doesn't let him finish: you quickly close the distance and throw the arms around Fellow's neck, dragging him against your body and refusing to let him go. The well known scent of his hair and skin fills your nostrils, and it feels like home... you are at home. "It comes after. Now, it's the moment to show you how much I missed you."
"..." Face buried against his chest, you cannot see his smirk turning into a sweeter smile; but you can feel it in the way his hands gently sink in your strands or rub your back. "... Yes, I know this is the effect I have on people... the same one you have on me. Now, come... I have a show prepared only for you, darling! Please, don't mind if you are the only one guest, I assure you'll love it⁓"
