Hot take everyone needs at least one creative hobby to accompany their consumptive ones. I don’t mean just art and writing I mean literally anything where you create something. Embroidery, cooking, knitting, gardening, wood whittling, trap making, needle felting, instrument playing, bug raising, fandom analysis writing, ANYTHING where you do work and can hold the fruits of your labor in you hands. Anything where you MAKE something else.
Something that isn’t a career choice. Something you don’t have to be good at. As long as it brings you joy.
Please get hobbies, they enrich your life.

people always list important early inventions like ‘the wheel’ and ‘plow’ first, but usually never get around to one of the most important inventions of all time
you know what completely revolutionized mankind, Reginald? Fucking thread and needle, when we stopped having to be bare-ass naked all the time and could put clothe together for everything from shoes to bags to carry shit in, we could go farther, last longer, sustain ourselves in harsher conditions
domestic labor, ie ‘women’s work,’ is so undervalued that it barely touches the public’s mind on how monumental it was to be able to make things out of fabric, how game-changing the thread and needle were… wack
i love a little red eyeshadow on the lower lid…its a little sexy and a little bit like oh no :( what happened
1001 Nights (1998), dir. Mike Smith, art by Yoshitaka Amano
some of you never experienced the “this isn’t available in your country” situation and it shows
