i had a desire to see a shenlong-style shinryu because i find shinryu’s design unfulfilling so i sketched out one that carried a little more of zenos’ character elements. i think it turned out well so i started to come up with an AU. i have a weakness for lung dragons! i was also thinking at the same time about what would happen if asahi had been summoned as a primal instead in UTM, and i came up with this. since Tsukuyomi is the god who governs over the moon, the goddess of the sun Amaterasu was the only choice here. long-tailed roosters are allowed to roam the grounds of Amaterasu’s shrine in Japan, and since the rooster is already symbolic of the dawn, I thought that was perfect. i may come back and retouch this image with some colors. (I started a little) there is no story behind the comic panels, i simply wanted to see some cute interactions of them and Sveinn, a miqo wol who belongs to noa on twitter. since this wol has a pre-established and close relationship with zenos and asahi, he takes care of them. we both envisioned a cute scene where asahi is waiting patiently to have his delicate talons groomed after Sveinn takes care of his chocobo. but I imagine he might be a little anxious about having the wol touch at first. he’s too fussy...
