with MELE out i was finally able to make my own shepard instead of hijacking my boyfriend’s playthrough like last time lol. it’s also my first renegade playthrough which so far has been really fun.

1st digital art (feb 2021) vs most recent (may 2021)

i did digital art years before this but it’s a) not very good and b) lost on my old beer-soaked laptop (thanks my ex). this big jump in quality comes mostly from getting the hang of the technology (i also upgraded from Krita to Clip Studio Paint) and plenty of practice on anatomy. also working from a real reference helps too.

i still have a lot of stuff to learn but i’m really proud of my progress so far!! i think my eye for composition has improved the most.

unpopular opinion time i guess

fanfic where shepard uses their first name regularly or at all rubs me the wrong way. don’t get me wrong i’m here for people writing stuff that makes them happy and i’ve certainly enjoyed plenty of fic where it happens, but it’s always a drawback for me

it sometimes makes sense when it’s in an intimate setting with their romance or close friends but it breaks the immersion for me every time especially when the name is something super ~edgy~

i guess my hc is that shepard hates their first name and doesn’t use it outside of legal context
