I think a large part of the food-loving Hobbit culture would center around homegrown herbs, so I think luscious natural scents and delicious herbs should be a large part of any Hobbit Handfasting. Lavender is a favorite of mine, and it happens to be stunning. It also represents protection. It could be used in the bouquet and boutonnieres and could also be tossed in lieu of rice or confetti.
