I hope Techno roasts Type’s balls for punching Tharn again. THIS IS NOT OKAY, TYPE.
But he’s not wrong to be upset with Tharn. Why? Because they discussed it and Type trusted Tharn when he said that nothing was going on. Type couldn’t give a monkey about P’San, but his boyfriend told him he had nothing to worry about. Remember how I said he’s not wrong? He’s not wrong, but he’s not right either. Either he trusts Tharn or he doesn’t.
The issue is, Type knows that he can’t/isn’t willing to offer Tharn everything he wants (a non-closeted relationship) and he’s afraid that at any moment Tharn will wake up and realise that he wants more and leave Type. Being closeted hurts Tharn, of course it does, but what hurts him more is Type. Type who minimises Tharn’s feelings, Type who previously didn’t care what Tharn liked or didn’t like, Type who is willing to soak up all Tharn’s love while being stingy with his own. Type is fighting his internalised homophobia every episode, but he still has a massive way to go and there is a very real chance he could lose Tharn before he gets over himself.
On the whole P’San thing, he’s very…fixated, let’s say. What I found really weird is how Tharn’s brother was clearly uncomfortable with how P’San was treating Tharn throughout dinner. He doesn’t want his ‘friend’ sniffing around his brother anymore. Cue a 180 in the same episode (this happens with practically every character lbr) where he supports his friend and his weird fetish. Either way, P’San doesn’t understand Tharn either. He wants some image of Tharn he’s got stuck in his head, not the man he is now. Especially as he doesn’t read Tharn’s very clear signals that he isn’t interested.
I’m very curious to see Tharn and Tar interact because there is clearly still feelings there in a way there isn’t between Tharn and P’San. I also hope that we get scenes between Type and Tar for the obvious reasons. I think Type at this point really needs someone who understands what he’s going through as a lot of his hatred comes from the fact that he is falling in love with a man and he feels like he is betraying himself. That if he completely gives over to Tharn, it’s like he’s saying what happened to him was justified. It’s irrational, but it’s trauma. It’s illogical by nature.
I feel like we have too much ground to cover in just four episodes, but as always, this show deals in incredible whiplash so it might all work out. Right?
(P.S. Still mad we didn’t get Type apologising to Kohm)
