@christianhosoi 540 at Del Mar Skate Ranch in 1985. Picked up some one elseâs flash, fortunately. Was this the contest that caused a ruckus between NorCal vs SoCal, Hosoi vs Hawk and Indy vs Tracker? Canât we all just get along? This is the first time in 33 years that I havenât worked for a Skateboarding magazine, kinda strange, but freeing. I am still enjoying shooting photos and looking forward to the future. This photo is of @tonyhawk at the Chin Ramp in 1986. ExoMars first colour image of Phobos
Colour composite of Phobos taken with the ExoMars orbiterâs Colour and Stereo Surface Imaging System (CaSSIS) on 26 November 2016. The observation was made at a distance of 7700 km and yields a resolution of 87 m/pixel.
To create the final colour image, two images were taken through each of the four colour filters of the camera â panchromatic, blueâgreen, red and infrared â and then stitched together and combined to produce the high-resolution composite.
Two of the colour filters used by CaSSIS lie outside the wavelength response of the human eye, so this is not a âtrueâ colour image. However, showing the data as a colour representation can reveal details of the surface mineralogy. Different colours are clearly seen, with the bluest part in the direction of the large crater Stickney, which is out of view over the limb to the left. Although the exact composition of the material is unknown, the colour differences are thought to be caused by compositional variations on scales of hundreds of metres to several kilometres.

The Cartwheel Galaxy from HubbleÂ
To some, it looks like the wheel of a cart. In fact, because of its outward oval appearance, the presence of a central galaxy, and their connection with what looks like the spokes of a wheel, the galaxy on the right is known as the Cartwheel Galaxy. To others, however, it looks like a complicated interaction between galaxies awaiting explanation. Along with the two galaxies on the left, the Cartwheel is part of a group of galaxies about 400 million light years away in the constellation Sculptor. The large galaxyâs rim spans over 100,000 light years and is composed of star forming regions filled with extremely bright and massive stars. Pictured, the Cartwheelâs ring-like shape is the result of gravitational disruption caused by a smaller galaxy passing through a large one, compressing the interstellar gas and dust and causing a star formation wave to move out like a ripple across the surface of a pond.
