I took a little break from sky for a week or two, finally logged back on tonight. went to go dye a cape and ended up seeing what they did to aviary
I want to get my thoughts out about the new look...
I find it really overwhelming now. I know that one of the oldest pet peeves of aviary was the distance between the spawn point and the realm portals, but they're just so... in your face now
the back and the area leading to it look like those oob versions of aviary that you can visit in the shops... I really like those because the stillness and emptiness is such an interesting contrast to the busy village, but it feels so lifeless here.
now, if it only lead to eden, I guess I could see the vision, but it doesn't feel like a transition from the safety of aviary to the suspense of eden, it feels like aviary just completely stops. and then there's eden, just kind of there. they left the fireworks staff back there, even though the party area has been moved to the front...? so, either this empty space will occasionally be slightly decorated sometimes, or the front will become even more cluttered when the festivals come
spawn point to portal distance aside, aviary was so cohesive. it felt like walking through a little village. the café being moved to the front along with the dressing area, the theater entrance, they really took every sign of life from the back area and crammed it all together and I just don't see why all of that was necessary
in any kind of design, there's patterns that draw the eye to certain places in a certain order, I think aviary did that very well all the way from the front to the back. I wasn't a fan of aviary in it's first year, but it really came into it's own. the back, when the dressing area was, had become one of my favorite hangout spaces in the past few years. it was so big and open! the new one feels like a hallway. I didn't realize how much it truly meant to me until it was gone. I'm really, really greatful for the past couple years of memories that I was able to make there with strangers I will never see again, and my dear friends who no longer play.
I'm not mad, I'm just tired, walking into this not knowing what I was about to see was genuinely so shocking, I haven't felt well today and was hoping to relax but I had to just leave once I had finished looking around.

Is this a bed buge? Funky Griffinkid I cobbled together; I've interpreted skykids as harpies before, so griffies are just my even more indulgent version of that . They like to play and draw !!!

Another item feedback from a while ago, the Treasure coin cape had lots of feedback, but to no one's surprise, nothing was considered for changing :-( To Skyblr mine goes !

thinking of doing sky comms again..... after i finish my current to-do maybe... i miss doing them a lot and it was a great skill exercise to do backgrounds like that

I'm soo disappointed that this Days of Nature has a wonderful theme of repurposing trash into art, only to have NONE of the items reflect that .. I sketched this redesign as feedback a while ago, unforch it didn't amount to anything :-[ So you all get to see it instead!
I haven't taken product photos yet because im still fussing with them but I'm working on some darkness plant magnets/brooches/standees/things! Theyre soooo sparkly its kind of ridiculous haha
