Loving someone isn’t always about understanding every word they say. Sometimes… it’s about feeling what they can’t explain. There are people whose hearts don’t speak in clear sentences. They speak in silence, in art, in the way they disappear and come back again. Not because they don’t care… but because they’ve learned the hard way that being fully seen can hurt. So they hide pieces of themselves. Not to push you away but to protect what’s left of them.
And if you’re patient enough. gentle enough… you’ll realize they were never “too much. They were just waiting for someone who knows how to listen differently.

Florida’s Sky Sends a Message ❤️⚡
A rare moment over Florida, USA 🇺🇸 as lightning carved a perfect heart shape across the stormy sky before striking the city below. Captured in a split second, this electrifying phenomenon shows how even the most powerful forces of nature can create something unexpectedly beautiful.
A reminder that sometimes the sky writes its own love letters. 🌩️💫

Sometimes life gets overwhelming, and we go quiet not because we’ve given up, but because we’re trying to find ourselves again. I’ve been going through a lot lately, and I needed that space to breathe, to heal, and to understand things better. But I’m still here… and I’m coming back stronger, with more to share, more to say, and more truth to give.

Something I only learned last year, which should be far more common knowledge, is that there is an American native lotus. It's lovely, it's tough, and it's an indigenous food source, and yet no one seems to know about it. I learned about it accidentally on a YouTube foraging channel. Pretty sure it was Feral Foraging; check him out, I like him. Anyway, yeah!

Like, what the fuck, that's awesome. And since I have a pond, and it desperately needs plants, I obviously immediately went and found me some seeds (got mine on Etsy).
The instructions that came with the seeds say you need to scarify them--that is, to scratch or break the seed coat to permit germination. They suggested a Dremel or a fucking belt sander. And that sounded extreme, but hey, I have a Foredom tool, which is a Dremel's big daddy, so surely this will be no problem!
Guys. They were not kidding.
Each tiny white patch on a seed on the left is a result of significant time power sanding this rock-like seed coating. I now fully understand how these can lie dormant for decades before germinating. I had to take a break. I may have to take more breaks. Damn, dude.

Perfect morning view in Sicily, Italy - Author: Naughty_Butterfly_X
On my last motel revival post, someone asked if a travel guide for classic motels exists. As far as I know, it doesn’t. So I’ve decided to make one.
I’ve started compiling a list of some of the best of the best vintage motels that I’ve stayed at. And I don’t mean renovated and modernized with vintage touches. I mean truly vintage - the same wood paneling that was there 40 years ago, the same person that’s been working the front desk for decades - you know the vibes.
The Maples Motor Inn of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee definitely meets that criteria. It has been owned and operated by the Maples family since 1972. It’s vintage in every way and one of the cleanest I’ve stayed at. It’s located on motel row on the main drag of Pigeon Forge but may be one of the last ones without corporate owners, musty rooms or bed bugs. We really enjoyed our stay here.
