Hi I'm Dave, I'm a bisexual menace and I need some help!

TL;DR I'm chronically ill and disabled (100% tube fed and hydrated) and I'm taking medical leave for the summer from my childcare director position due to an extreme flare up of my gastroparesis + dysautonomia in combination with my autoimmune diseases.

I will be seeing Mayo rheumatology in July to hopefully confirm my Lupus diagnosis and start treatment. In the meantime, I live in the desert and I cannot commute to and from work in the 110F+ heat and sun due to my condition and symptoms. Throwing up is dangerous for me with a GJ tube because of the risk of displacing the tube, and my autonomic dysfunction makes it dangerous to drive with the risk of passing out.

Insurance covers my formula, prescription meds and some supplies, but I buy my own electrolytes, water, hypoallergenic tapes, and OTC medications.

Over the years I have faced many ups and downs, just like everyone else. Sometimes it really gets to me how mean people can be to each other. How mean I can be to myself. But for all the Level 1 Trans Fighters out there please know with acceptance, mindfulness, and self compassion I did in fact find my balance. Not a fast process. Basically a complete lifestyle change. Sometimes I lose that balance, sure. But when I choose to present my authentic identity? I’m objectively drop dead gorgeous. Here are a hand full of my looks. Apologetics for transphobia is just transphobia. Transphobia is just as dangerous, even if it's "well they don't want you dead, they want [x, y, z]." Transphobia doesn't have to end in somebody's death in order for it to be real, dangerous, and worth discussing (not to mention that "non-lethal" transphobia is still very much lethal).

I understand why people want to categorize transphobia into "real and dangerous" and "not real (and not really dangerous)," but that isn't going to save us. Transphobia is transphobia. Transphobes often do not want to ~💐save trans people💐~ with kind words and affirmation. They want us eradicated - gone.

Republicans are barrelling us towards (more) fascism and Democrats are asking us to agree to disagree while they stand to the side. I'm actually very scared of what's going to happen in 2024. I've armed myself with everything but a gun (because SI is also a reality I live with), I'm working out more, and checking in on every trans person I come across. I want to be prepared. But I don't know what the answers are anymore.

I just want a home with a locked door, to be away from curious eyes and prying voices, and a safe place to call home. But I don't know where safe is.

I left the state I was born and raised in because of political violence. But even now that I'm in a "blue" area, I'm seeing anti homeless policies being enacted by Democrats left and right, police and vigilantes being given more authority, and a society that constantly turns it's nose to me. The best liberals have for me is, "Aw you're so valid. Just keep your head up and things will get better okay!"

No one is coming to save us. We have to save us. And I'm both empowered and terrified by this.
