     SHE WASN’T particularly fond of the Distortion, that was known by that point. Something in the way It kept shifting and changing and flashing right before her eyes always put her on edge, thus his arrival in this particular moment wasn’t as welcomed as he might have expected. Jane’s (the Hive’s) gaze looked up from the human remains that had stopped writhing on the ground shortly before and focused on the shape on the threshold of a yellow door that wasn’t there before (never was. or maybe it was and she failed to notice?). 

     “Why are you here?”

      Long, sharp fingers wrapped around the frame of his door as Michael stepped out into the alleyway. A nearly ever-present smile was spread across his face, with what certainly couldn’t be the right amount of teeth; but then again, what about the Distortion was ever quite right? Michael’s eyes glanced between Jane and the poor sod who lay dead on the pavement and back again, staring unblinking at the Flesh Hive’s host. “Is there somewhere else I should be?”

as much as i hated to see my boy go, michael’s death scene was really cool. it was unexpected and well executed. from his door being locked, to him slowly realizing what’s happened, his scream that breaks the sound barrier, and then of course the introduction of helen. it’s a very cool scene.

i also have to mention not-sasha, as it’s the first time jon smites someone and that is totally unexpected and badass as hell.

1. Favorite avatar. i have to say michael, of course, with john amherst as a close second

Favorite entity. this is a really difficult one, but i think, overall, i have to go with the flesh. i think it’s underappreciated and underrepresented. but i’m a vegetarian, i love animals, and i really dig some good body horror, so the flesh is super effective for me. some of the most unsettling episodes for me were flesh episodes.

5. Favorite episode. again, this is a difficult one. even if i tried, i probably couldn’t pick a number one, so i’ll mention a few stand outs: the man upstairs, the gardener, a gravedigger’s envy, the new door, quiet, pest control.

6. Favorite season. i think probably season four or five.

there are plenty of scary moments that i could list here, and there are probably creepier ones that aren’t coming to mind, but cul-de-sac was one of the first to pop in my head. that guy alone in an endless, empty suburbia at night, where nothing is quite right. that shit gets me, man.
