(This is something I've been wanting to make for a very long time but I struggled with figuring out how exactly to go about it. Since this is basically Starweave's theme song to me, I decided to use Gale's romance scenes in order and treat it like a timeline of their love story. 💙💜)

What does your Dream Visitor look like, and why?

For Rynn, the image of their Mother. Eirwen Silvervine.

It wasn't perfect but Rynn couldn't have known. Rynn was only small when their mother was hunted down and killed. There's a lot of grief around not only her loss but also the fact that Rynn constantly worries if their parents would be proud of them, and the milestones they have missed out on and so seeing her there within a dream, in that awful situation, it was a comfort at first, until -

Rynn rambled about what they've achieved, how Granny was doing, what they've learned and while yes the situation was difficult and awful, they were trying their best to look out for the group, how they've grown, so excited but they're met with a cold blank stare that did not belong to the warm person they'd heard so many stories about.

The morning after the first dream, Rynn woke up in a mood that hadn't been seen yet in the druid, they were calm and quiet, silently picking up their uniform and getting ready for the day; no tea, no smiles and that annoying morning person they are, but someone with their brow etched deep in thought and disappointment.

Learning the truth, Rynn couldn't trust the dream guardian, because of that interaction they had been pushed through grief of losing their mother all over again - even if it was for supposed good reasons.

What does your Dream Visitor look like, and why?

i am very late here, because i've barely been doing any tag games all year 😭 i want to start doing them again and i appreciate people thinking of me! i got tagged for this by uhhh... @lilhumanoid @fireflyeyes @spillingteanotpermitted @selunitejeanne @elceewunjo @onlytavs and @litsenn. i hope that's everyone, i just caught up on a whole bunch of old notifications.

So, I unfortunately don't have any screenshots of Elenion with his dream guardian. I really wish I did, but I don't and that's because on both of my playthroughs for him, I hadn't actually come up with a concrete design for the character I wanted them to be before I started. I had assumed that the resculpt option in Appearance Edit Enhanced would let me change it later, but despite it appearing to let you redesign your dream guardian the changes don't actually show up in-game. And I've never found a single actual, functional way to change your dream guardian's appearance, or a way to just instantly trigger the dream scenes on a new game for screenshot purposes, so. Oh well 😔

This is meant to be Elenion's mother, Vairina!

The emperor took her form because Elenion used to be very close with her before his father died. But after his death, Elenion blamed himself and became convinced that his mother must secretly blame him too. So he left home, started gradually distancing himself from her over the years and wrote and visited less and less frequently, until by the time of the game they've hardly spoken in years.

But he still remembers her lullabies and her favorite things to make for breakfast and associates those things with comfort. He wants to see her again but he's afraid to reach out. And then, she appears in his dreams, claiming that she's been protecting him.

On my first playthrough, I had no idea what was truly going on or what to think about the dream guardian, so I as the player kept going back and forth on if I trusted them and later decided to include that in Elenion's own characterization—because I realized that, if the Emperor was pretending to be his mother, it'd make perfect sense.

Elenion wants to believe that, somehow, their mother must have known they were in trouble and found a way to protect them. That she still loves them enough to do so.

But she wouldn't. They failed their father and abandoned their mother, why would she protect them? This must be some kind of trick, or even just a very vivid dream. Believing otherwise is just childish and pathetic.

They go back and forth constantly between trusting the dream guardian a little too much, recoiling from them completely, and suspecting that they're being manipulated while being so desperate for comfort that they don't want to believe it.

Finding out that a mind flayer was using the illusion of his mother's love and comfort to manipulate him immediately makes Elenion feel horrified and repulsed—at the Emperor, of course, but also at himself for at least partially falling for it.

For Briala, there are a lot of things about her story I'd like to revisit and flesh out more and the dream guardian is one of them. I don't even remember what I made hers look like, but if I had to guess they're probably just a random hot elf woman or something. Again, I hate that there's seemingly zero way to change the dream guardian's appearance with mods. But if I literally ever finish her run, I might do another one with her someday, and then I'd make her guardian someone from her past as well—most likely either her sister Lily, who similarly to Elenion she has a strained relationship with but deeply loves and wants to reconcile with. Or one of the Lathanderite monks that took her into their monastery after the leader of her old mercenary group betrayed her, because she would immediately associate them with inner peace, wisdom, and guidance and be tempted to trust them. Actually, now that I'm writing this out I'm leaning towards that second option. Either way she'd be absolutely pissed and wanting to kill the Emperor with her bare hands when she finds out the truth, though.

Bonus: in my Gale origin run, I wanted to make myself sad so I did this!

I was about to say that lore-wise I have no idea why the Emperor would take the form of someone who, in this universe, Gale has never met. But I actually just realized... I do know! Gale and Elenion's canon story is literally that ever since the first time Gale remembers seeing the renowned Elenion Silverdew perform at the Yawning Portal he had wanted to speak to them, so he kept seeking them out at their performances in Waterdeep but he missed his chance to talk to them every single time. The last time he saw them was at the Blackstaff Ball several years before the start of the game, and that performance left him more captivated than all the others combined but Elenion still managed to slip away from the crowd before he could speak to them.

So, I guess in this case the Emperor thought Gale would be most likely to trust his celebrity crush favorite bard, lol.

What small gesture by their partner means more to your OC than any grand act? #TavQOTD

Bring him a cup of tea. It sounds so small and meaningless but Fin often dives too deep into his work, is left shaking after healing; telling him to stop will make it worse. But, bring him a tea shows care.

Fin is stubborn, a trait that he doesn't deny isn't always the best but telling him to rest will only push him further and so, bringing him a tea (and even a cake if feeling extra generous) shows that understanding and care of him, rather than pulling him away from his work.

Rynn? Their Nain of course, matriarch of their circle and the now tiny Silvervine family. Granny Brigid is fully aware Rynn can look after themselves but does that stop her being protective of the last piece of her family, no, not at all.

She's fully aware Rynn puts other's happiness above their own, even keeps pieces of themselves to hidden to avoid making others worry - she knows fully that they do that with her too, and so she might overstep but from a good place and ask that a potential partner of Rynn's gives them that safety.

She'd never get in the way though, she learned the hard way with Rynn's parents and still regrets being too protective of her daughter rather than seeing the kind man Rynn's father was. She'd wish she'd taken time to get to know him more.

For Fin, it will always be home. The snowy pines that night he completed his Selûnite trial and fell as he ran to his parents victorious. The small wound that lead to him learning healing. And, the first life he couldn't save himself.

A young boy, not much younger than himself within the forest that boarders home. It was the first time he had failed, first time he couldn't do enough - his hands burnt, he wept, his nose bleed, but it wasn't enough.

It was the night after where no moon could be seen that he started his ritual of lighting candles, offering the soul some last night on their first night without a moon.

One of the first full things I wrote for Fin that I recently dug back out.

There was a time that Fin and Rynn were a pairing (actually a trouple with Cynder ;v; ) within their own little AU and honestly, I'm so tempted to squish them back together now and again. Both healers, yet one fire and one the sun both troublemakers in their own way, and both needing someone stubborn to tell them to rest.

Rynn isn't sure if it's a memory or a dream, less of an image but a song. A woman's voice that they could barely hold onto, the words faded nothing to a hum and warmth, safety holding them - the promise to protect them from the world. The song repeating years later, Granny's voice remembering the song her daughter used to sing for the bundle of sunlight she had wished so hard for.

It was always a song of comfort, like a purr - so it is only fitting that it is the last thing Rynn experiences before slipping away, that comfort of death that they had aided so many into. They had spent their life carrying pieces of others with them, they can't help but wonder what pieces they have left upon other people.

Does your OC have any disabilities?

Due to the scar upon his back, the nerves being damaged, Lonán handles a lot of pain within the upper back. Some days are better than others, but the cold deeply effects him and what can exist as a dull ache becomes excruciating - similar with his thigh.

He does struggle to walk confidently on the bad days, but these are the times he truly hides away. He's a prideful man, who struggles to allow those around him to see him in pain; he hides it well, after all he's managed it for so long, but some days are harder to handle.

Winter becomes a struggle, due to the cold and then having to wear heavy clothing to beat away the cold.

(Cat-Sith are known to be attracted to warmth, it's often advised not to light a fire in a home with one around as they can wander in and steal the souls of those within - and you know, just cats and warm places!)

#tavqotd What does your Tav take the most pride in when it comes to their looks?

His hair, for Fin it is the evidence of his magic and the effort that he's pushed through; he wears it like a crown he earned. He spends great time taking care of his hair, though at home it's more relaxed and free.

Originally it came through in random streaks, but as he aged and became more in control of his magic, it came through in fully streaks, though randomly through the locks - he purposely brushes them forward when in his full uniform.

Fin keeps pride in his dark hair, it's something from his father and while the orange is also the pride of his magic, that black hair is the connection to Aodhán - Fin is often seen at his mother's side, and is 100% the biggest momma's boy but he also considers his father very highly.
