heyoo! long time no post. welcome back to my studyblr. this is a masterpost containing a compilation of various websites that are really helpful for us student.
I have explored just the essential topics of bookwormish, education and language learning, but I’ll do the rest later on n October. italics are highly recommended
BOOKWORMISH:
goodreads- for finding the most legit collection of ebooks and other stuff like magazines
overdrive- for finding your nearest library(sort of a library tracker) and also holds gallons of ebooks as well
WhichBook-it helps you to find appropriate books according to the level of intensity of emotions that can be regulated with a regulator.
Bookriot- to be updated with the latest and awesome bookish news from across the globe. it not only provides news feeds but also interesting trivia of any books to test your bookish knowledge
Bookbub-it gives you superb deals on buying books and mostly free books. generally speaking, it’s cheap but the coolest
Amazon- of course for buying books of literally any type
ReadPrint-endless books options from where you can download the pdf version of the chosen ebook
Alibris- one of the best online resources to shop for books and stuff by category
Powells- anything from novels to self-published books
LANGUAGE:
duolingo- (it also has its app version)
Busuu- (it also has its app version). has difficulty level starting from basic to elementary and up
memerise- it uses spaced repetition to cover up each and every language courses and helps you remember stuff through memes
Babbel-it allows you to speak with the native speakers and also to learn a ton of languages of your choice
quizlet-literally this is the best website I can ever recommend for practicing stuff through the most effective flashcards
anki-its most effective form is available in the app version which is linked here. this such a minimalistic app that again uses spaced repetition. when you open it, it just appears as a plain Microsoft program but it uses an effective way of remembering things (highly recommended as in this video by @studyquill where you can also find some really cool extensions)
BBC learning
ReadLang- this is the extension version of readlang. this is a web reader wherein on clicking a word you can get an instant translation while you’re online in the web browser where it’s installed. not only that but it also stores those specific words in the form of flashcards that are extremely helpful for learning vocab in your target language
rememberry- another extension created by Google almost similar to readlang
Livemocha- its app version is Rosetta stone and has over 35 languages to learn
Foreign services institute- it has languages starting from Amharic to Yoruba. any.thing
Livelingua- it has over 130 languages where you can also speak to native talkers and even online teachers to help you go
Learn a language- you can even purchase suitable books to meet your language learning goals and has games for interactivity. learning a language is seemingly endless whee each topic of language has 5 subparts- learning words (vocabulary), phrases, interesting blogs in that language and courses
FluentU- for video streaming in your target language. its app version is even more efficient
Innovative language- it has even podcasts in your target language
Alison- it offers detailed courses in your target language. if you score more than 80%, it’ll give you a fancy hardcopy of a merit certificate
Lang8- offers you to choose from 90 different languages. it’s mostly known for its special feature of letting you chat or talk with the native speakers
HiNative- you can ask questions about any language you want and get answers from real native speakers from around the world.
TinyCards-its the flashcard version of duolingo
EDUACTION:
alison- learn anything from lifestyle to humanities
edX
SkillsShare
Quizlet
Courser
BrightStorm
Big think
Learner
Crash course
MathTV
TED TALKS
Udemy
Brainpop
Study rocket
that’s all I was able to compile. for now, let me know whatever I am missing so I tag them later when I do another compilation on October sooner or later
