i’m not completely sure what you’re supposed to put for your first tumblr post, but i’m going to start by sharing one of my favorite things in the world: music! here are my favorite songs, from the well-known to the relatively obscure:
💫 not allowed by tv girl - tv girl generally gives such nostalgic vibes, but this is my favorite song of theirs (that and cigarettes out the window, which is also worth a listen).
💫 like him by tyler the creator - i just got into tyler the creator’s music and this is my number one song of his so far. idk why, but i’d probably listen to this song while reading a murder mystery novel.
💫 sex, drugs, etc. by beach weather - currently my fav song! absolutely perfect for driving your car around at night in the city.
💫 sailor song by gigi perez - suchh a good wlw song (though i love seeing it paired with gay men ships too lol) that brings back 2024-2025 nostalgia for me. a beautiful background for kissing your girlfriend or laying in bed by yourself.
💫 say it ain’t so by weezer - dad music is incredible ngl. completely different tone from the past few songs i just listed, but whatever. this and buddy holly. god it’s good.
💫 ribs by lorde - such a sweet friendship song. my friends and i blast this whenever we hang out. it’s such a high-school-best-friends-sleepover song.
💫 basically any song from mitski’s 2023 album (the land is inhospitable and so are we). she’s a goddess of alt/indie music and this is my personal favorite album of hers. i’m your man, heaven, and bug like an angel are three songs that are so majestic and angelic, like, i can’t even describe them. just listen.
💫 reflections by the neighborhood - there are so many more the neighborhood songs i’d love to recommend, but for now i’ll stick with this one and tell you to check out their discography if you haven’t already.
💫 i know the end by phoebe bridgers - a soft indie song that progressively builds up into something goosebump-raising. honestly gives gravity falls vibes (and i discovered it from a gravity falls edit!) my own apocalyptic anthem.
rest assured i have so many more recommendations, but i’m lazy and don’t feel like typing for that long on a touchscreen. if you already know all these, we might be music taste twins! if you don’t, feel free to check them out, especially if you love late-night alt music. in my opinion these are the insomniac songs to listen to.
