write a short story! use a random word generator, get three words, and try to write a story around them in five thousand words or less.
make a custom calendar for the next month! get a piece of paper, divide it into 30/31 squares with a marker/pencil, and decorate it like a real calendar. some good themes are flowers, bands, or space!
do some online quizzes! two good websites are buzzfeed and uquiz. we all want to know what kind of bread we are once in a while!
the obvious choice, go out! head to a local mall or park, and just.. sit down. listen to everything around you, or just some music. we’re all here for the first time! try to appreciate it.
make some decorations! something to hang on your wall, from your roof, or just to place on a desk. paper flowers are a cute place to start!
little things to make habits! (these make me feel SO much better)
always have a full water bottle beside your bed. being hydrated helps with, like, everything!
on that note, always have a little snack nearby. if you’re miserable, you’re probably some mix of hungry, thirsty, or tired.
when waking up, think of three things you like about yourself. this makes it easier for me to get out of bed most days!
make a point to watch at least one movie a week. it can be a short film! this can help with attention span (it did for me), and gives you something to look forward to during the week. a few of my recommendations are the breakfast club, dead poets society, labyrinth, and bohemian rhapsody!
when making a sad playlist, add one happy song. this gets me out of a lot of my bad moods! a few good songs for this are here comes the sun, don’t stop me now, come out fighting, and i’m not down.
(tl;dr: anyone who tells you you need to spend hundreds of dollars on it is an airhead.)
wash your face. WASH. YOUR. FACE! seriously, before and after any routine, do it. hydration is key, honey!
ice your face! get a piece of ice and just… rub it around ‘til it melts. don’t ask me how it works. it just does.
don’t just pick up an expensive routine, build one! find what works for you and what doesn’t. my best advice is to wait a week in between buying/applying new products, so if something makes you break out you’ll know what you need to stop doing.
you don’t need to do a full routine twice a day, but set a schedule! routine is always key.
get a good spf! cool girls avoid skin cancer. you’re gonna want one you can be comfortable in/go out with, because I don’t know if it’s just me but a sticky/too runny sunscreen is totes a mood killer..
workout tips that work (from someone who isn’t trying to sell you anything) vvv
(look, half of these are common knowledge, but they weren’t common to me when i started! 😭)
eat beforehand! i’m not telling you to devour a whole cake or anything, but food really is fuel and you’ll get a lot more done in your workouts with real energy behind you instead of an energy drink.
if you’re walking, especially if you’re just starting out, please wear proper footwear. double sock it if you have to! you are not immune to blisters, and exercise shouldn’t feel like walking on hot coals!
if you struggle with how long to work out, put on an album you like! really helped me stay focused/motivated when i wanted to give up.
don’t push yourself too hard! yes, push your limits, but not to the point you burn out. no one wants to work out 7 days a week, take your rest days! (and, yes, this includes walking. the period where i got 10k steps in every day left me with blisters for weeks. good lord are those not fun)
remind yourself why you started. this one is so important! was it to gain muscle, to stay healthy, for a hobby? all of these are completely valid reasons, and possible. stick to it for yourself!
