It's Happening AGAIN.
Hey, remember my brief baby bird last year? The one I rescued from the parking lot. I might have a baby bunny in my bathroom RN. I followed the rules as best I could - my cat brought home a baby rabbit about 3-4 weeks old, alive and essentially uninjured. I brought him in and left the rabbit alone, hoping night time the mother would cry out for the little one and he'd head home. I checked every two hours since 4p.m 6- hadn't moved. 8- hadn't moved. I'd seen a rabbit in the neighbors yard though, so I was hopeful. 10- he was gone. I breathed happily because Hunter was causing fucking drama all 6 hours and was now tearing apart the screen door. I had to let him out as well cause if he peed in the house I was going to get smacked. So I let him out and stayed with him, scanning the bushes. I hoped he got under the porch and was even slightly safe. Hunter didn't seem to care that much so I turned around and he went whizzing past me. The lil rabbit had only managed to go about 7 feet total and was snuggled against the house. Hunter tried to get him again so I freighted him inside. There are other predatory cats and hawks in the area, hell even the crows go for 'em. So I brought him in instead. I scooped him up into a shoe box and filled Rico's old cage with straw, a very tiny water dish, and greens (grass, spinach, lil bit of dandelion, and tiny chunks of strawberry.) I also provided him a cardboard hide and he's been in there since. It's 10:05 as I am posting this. We're planning to call a rehabber first thing tomorrow.
Anyone know if I'm doing something wrong??
