Disenchantment

It originally means, “no longer believing in magic. ”Humans like magic. It gives us solace and energy and hope. In many ways, the rational era of science and engineering and evidence and proof eliminated any practical belief in magical forces. We know how and why the sun sets every night. But we still desire magic.

All We Hide

Do not pretend to understand Why we are here upon this land Do not pretend to have the key To every boat upon the sea It is ok to feel alone, Though you are weighted with each stone It is ok to feel too much And for each bullet to keep watch But none of us escape unscathed Upon each mine we feel betrayed Yet this is life that we are in We try to run inside our dream Our legs keep moving in one spot We’re trapped inside this morbid plot There’s no one coming to our aid Though with our blood and tears we paid No one can see the storm inside We’ve gotten good at all we hide ©2021 -MyPoeticSoulNy (-mps)

I wonder what it’s like to feel Your presence when I choose to kneel Is your skin soft or rough with age Are you serene or filled with rage Will you unravel, come undone As we begin to have our fun Or will I be the one to spin, Your each affection try to win I wonder if you need me so Or when we’re done you’d want to go You think that I am made of stone I know to judge we are all prone It may be true but do recall That everyone gets hurt who fall Perhaps you’ll catch me as I do As I’m prepared to do for you ©2021 -MyPoeticSoulNy (-mps)

Life

We arrive into this world alone And we depart this world alone But in between sometimes our paths Do cross along a soulful bath And in those times we feel as one When someone else’s heart we won Within those times is when we fly There are no ceilings in the sky And in those moments we are whole We feel like we have found our role That magic feeling that consumes Makes us feel high on longing fumes It gives us armor like no other And any chore is not a bother We feel electrified, on fire We’re blind to everything that’s dire Within this love we long to stay But life just pushes on its way ©2021 -MyPoeticSoulNy (-mps)
