VPN PSA: any free VPN is assumed to be unsecure. Private internet access is one of the best paid VPNs and they're chill with torrent bandwidth. If you're in Canada, companies can send you the "oh stop being a pirate, we'll sue you" email, but they can't have any personal info from your isp, and can't actually sue. I personally use transmission as my bittorrent client. And the P*ratebay is still one of the most popular and best places to get software.

I’ve only ever used Tixati, bc it’s what was recommended to me when I was getting CS6, and it hasn’t failed me yet. And ye. PB looks super unreliable, but if you know what to look for to avoid viruses, then it’s pretty safe, from what I understand.
