When consciousness stopped being the frame, background and foreground, two widows played a game of cat and mouse. She chased him for answers, he chased her for conversation. For fun.

Tilt the camera.

Zane found himself on the floor, and before he could pick himself up a heavy boot on his chest kept him in place. Did Alice forget, in the heat of the moment, what her camera could do? To freeze him enough for her to run?

He laughed, preferring to think she enjoyed this as much as he did.

"Take a picture, it'll last longer…"
