Random but important post (for the ALF fans anyway): There's this great podcast I've been listening to called ALFsplaining. It's a podcast that does an episode-by-episode dive into the ALF sitcom. The hosts review the series from a British perspective, and they do a wonderful job. They've just finished up season two, and I believe will be off for the summer, but that's enough time for anyone interested to catch up. Recently, they've done two interviews, one with Mike Reiss and another with Al Jean (writers on ALF, among others things), which I would both recommend. More excitingly, they just announced that next week, they would be interviewing Paul Fusco himself.
The interview must be lengthy, as they're releasing it in two parts. I'm not affiliated with the podcast in any way, but just wanted to put this out there for anyone interested.
(I do not own the image above. The image comes from the ALFsplaining social medias.)
Here's a linktree for anyone interested: https://linktr.ee/alfsplaining
Community Spotlight - ALFsplaining - The ALF Podcast
I wanted to do this occasionally when I felt that a certain fan creation needed a little attention, so I decided to make this post. I might make more in the future when I feel they need to be done.
Official description: “An episode by episode look at the sitcom ALF from a British and not especially serious perspective. From wherever you get your podcasts. Hosted by Ben Baker and John Matthews.”
I’ve been listening to ALFsplaining since practically the beginning when I stumbled upon it on accident. I’ll definitely recommend it to any ALF fans out there whether you’ve been watching for a while or if you’re watching for the first time. The hosts, Ben and John, actually dive deep into the content of each episode and are hilarious. They’re also big fans of ALF so they actually do care about the quality of the podcast. Besides diving into each episode (they’re currently ending out season three), they’ve done some of interviews with ALF cast and crew members - namely writers Al Jean and Mike Reiss as well as the man himself, Paul Fusco. Like I said, at the moment they’re ending out season three with a weeklong marathon ending with a mystery celebrity interview, so now’s the time to start listening.
So if you’re an ALF fan, I would recommend listening to this podcast. It’s extremely fun, hilarious, and entertaining.
