So I decided to recreate Chloe’s outfit from season 1 of LiS. I really tried my absolute hardest to get the correct items or get as close as possible to what Chloe wears in said season. The boots, jeans, bracelets, suspenders and hat were all purchased on amazon. The necklace & jacket however, were bought on ebay.

I might replace the suspenders with thinner ones. Not sure to be honest. Ah well. Please feel free to tell me if there’s anything I may have gotten right or wrong. :3

Oh, I almost forgot! The tank top is from Redbubble. ^^

The Legend of Korra | Book 1: Air Review

The Legend of Korra is a sequel to the hugely popular Avatar: The Last Airbender animated series. A series I have already watched based on the recommendation of a friend and disappointingly I did not enjoy it very much. My decision to watch Korra therefore was based solely on the fact the central character was a heroin.

The Show

The first thing i noticed about this series is just how beautiful it is. From the animation through to the soundtrack. Every aspect of the series compliments the other. This really helps you get immersed in the world of Avatar, whether you are familiar to the franchise or new to it.

The series finds the perfect balance between the pace of the plots and the development of its central characters. Each episode has its own purpose and is memorable but also manages to feel like part of a larger picture. Small plot points or character introductions happen at one point in the series and turn out to have a bigger purpose later on in the story arc, meaning that no opportunity is wasted and you get this wonderful sense of how this world is all interlinked. Equally the series is very strong at giving its stories meaningful impact and heart, making you care about the characters, the setting and the story.

The  Blu-ray

The Legend of Korra Book 1: Air is comprised of 12 exciting chapters spread across 2 discs. The first 7 episodes can be found on disc 1, all with audio commentaries. On disc 2 the remaining 5 episodes can be found, again all with audio commentaries. Additionally on disc 2 you can view the creators favourite scenes and a feature called the Making of a Legend: The Untold Story - Part 1. The features offer an interesting insight into the world of Avatar Korra and are worth viewing.

The Blu-ray does however lack in Languages and Subtitles, only featuring English and English captions for the hearing impaired (as you can see below).

On the inside of the Blu-ray case there is some art work and an episode guide, something i am a personal fan of.

The series is presented in beautiful High Definition and this is noticeable when comparing to the DVD version. This just helps to realise the true beauty that the rich world of Korra has to offer.

I purchased my copy from Amazon.co.uk and it arrived quickly, so i recommend you invest and start watching. The complete series (Book 1-4) can also be purchased on Blu-ray, however i am a huge fan of the individual box designs and will be reviewing each Book individually.  

Additionally, i will be reviewing The Legend of Korra - Book 1:Air episode by episode as i discuss the characters and story in more depth. Stay tuned in the coming weeks.
