After the Calling the Shots animation workshop - back in November - and having made strong applications, we are delighted that Alex and Elsie have been selected for the residential ‘Calling the Shots’ Animation Camp 2018. A week-long residential animation course for young people aged between 16 and 19, as part of the BFI Film Academy and in partnership with oscar-winning Aardman Animations, the University of the West of England School of Animation and the best of Bristol’s world-leading animation talent. What a terrific opportunity.

Terrific visit this morning by ex-Strode student Lila Babington who talked about her route through the Strode Art Foundation and on to an animation degree at NUA (Norwich University of the Arts) and - having also had her animation work ‘Tunnel Vision’ commissioned by ‘Random Acts’ . She has now graduated and is working in industry - currently on an internship with Bristol based production company ‘Calling the Shots’.

Steve is one of the founders of ‘Calling the Shots’ and he then talked about the BFI Film Academy, the Animation Camp in Bristol and about paths into the animation/film industry.

Todays session with our students also involved a short workshop in making a pixilation GIF. (*SEE ABOVE)
