So yeah, while checking out Pokemon Scarlett and Violet, I found out about Rika and Larry, who are like the characters of all time. Instant favs. Handsome lady and tired employee best archetypes frfr. Then I found the aochiri tag.

hey noa? if rika went on maternity leave to yknow, who was doing the interview? hassle? larry?? do you think he wore the glasses for it?

ah yes, the family of three au (and it's alternative, non-crackish canon compliant counterpart).

I'll be honest, Larry did it at first since he feels he should pick up the pace in Rika's place (he IS the reason she's on maternity leave), but Geeta banned him after he unintentionally caused a few of the interviewees to cry. (his monotone put them on edge, when combined with the fact that they failed their interview - OOPS)

(add the fact that more than one of them have bad experiences with his Gym, because he genuinely kicked their asses lol - shout out to the fact that he gave me trouble and them proceeded to scare the shit out of me when I went to the league and went "LARRY???")

So Hassel took over, since everyone's familiar with him as a teacher, he's got this goofy side to him and more often than not, everyone is worried about making HIM cry, so that takes the edge off of everything..

And yes, he wears the glasses.

(Larry also wore the glasses lmao)

And when Rika comes back, there she is, with her glasses again, and the baby in a baby carrier on her torso. Kinda also wearing a pair of smaller glasses lmao (they too, are also fake glasses).

Imagine: baby poppy with her pacifier in her mouth, just staring into your soul as you leave yourself at the absolute mercy of Rika's interview.

The alternative is Larry with Poppy, who keeps stealing food from him and he's just "This one isn't yours, here" and also "give me a moment, the little one wants to pet my Altaria."

At least one time, did Rika and Larry lose Poppy (in the Family of Three AU), and they're looking EVERYWHERE for her, but Hassel just, "Have you checked your Altaria?"

And there she is, snuggled up inside that floof, with a few of the other bords.

(Hassel is always on and off with babysitting, mostly because of how easily emotional he gets. He's just so HAPPY GOD DAMN)

(Geeta sometimes takes over, though not everyone manages to get to her, so they don't often see her with the baby...but Larry does have pictures lmao)
