Hi, so I’m what you’d call a name nerd, and here’s that post I talked about discussing character name meanings. I’m going to start with the LIs (including name changes), and if y’all are interested, I can try and track down the meanings for side characters as well. Or you can send me your OC/MC names and I can track down meanings if you aren’t a fellow name nerd.
Anyway, here we go!
Asra - Arabic origin, feminine. Variant of Isra. ‘Travel at night’.
Julian - Latin origin, unisex. 'Youthful, downy’.
Ilya - Russian origin, masculine. ‘Strength of God’. Variant of Elijah.
So you know how nobody asked for headcanons about the scents I associate with my OCs? Yeah. This is what @arcanecadenza and @justfortuna get for making me gay on main
Zelda is the essence of fresh-tilled earth, cherry blossoms on a cool spring breeze. She’s the warm spice of fresh pumpkin bread, the pine that lingers on the tail ends of her magic and follows wherever she goes. Forever on her lips is the taste of earl grey and bergamot, sweetened by a touch of cream and honey to help her perk up in the mornings.
Astoria is fresh coffee grounds and the age-old bindings of ancient tomes, the scent of ink and paper clinging to her like a second skin. She’s the garden she spends her time in, tucked away under the magnolias with a book spread open in her lap. Where Zelda is the earth, Astoria is the sky, carrying with her the scent of crisp autumn and spices that just make you feel at home whenever you’re near her. And she’ll never fail to taste like peppermint tea, her preferred drink on late night reading sessions that often carry into the late hours of the morning.
Miriyam is the heady tobacco of hand-rolled cigarettes, the same caught between her lips - sometimes unlit - as she works charcoal-smeared fingers across the surface of her sketchbook. She’s the lingering trails of the sparks that fly from the clash of steel on steel, the nighttime air when she spends hours on the balcony gazing out toward the bay. Find her guilty pleasure on her tongue - the sweet notes of ripe peaches she can’t help but pick up on runs down to the market.
Art History OC Meme - I was tagged by @motherofqups :)
Fun fact: I’m studying history so I can work in the museum field in the future. This is just *chef’s kiss*
Bold what applies, italicize what applies sometimes or somewhat.

Tired eyes. Coffee stains on the table. Listening to the bustle of the city. Unmade beds. Ponytails. Sunlight seeping through the curtains. Chapped lips. Walking barefoot across floorboards. Dusty dictionaries. Black and white reruns. Huge sweaters. The ticking of the clock. Hearing birds in the morning. Fireplaces. Falling asleep during class.
RENAISSANCE
Freckles. The sun rising. Watching the sea. Taking shots of the city. Historical museums. Bright eyes. Looking up at the clouds. Walls covered in artwork. Drawing in the middle of lessons. Tracing your fingers on the sand. Painting for hours. Staying in uncrowded coffee shops. Worn paperbacks. Messy braids. Going to bed with your knee socks on.
BAROQUE
Dark hair. A little sophisticated. Always observing the world around you. Intricate designs. High ceilings. Extravagant musical pieces. Dim lights. Colourless photographs. Fancy furniture. Pale skin. Hearing soft footfalls coming from outside your room. Mischievous looks. Bitten nails. Candlelight dinners. Dark shades of lipstick.
CLASSICAL
Chandeliers. The clinking of a teacup. Laced clothing. Modern architecture. Light hair. Watching the view from the terrace. Hidden birthmarks. Drinking tea in the morning. Wandering about in an empty building. Botanical gardens. Old films. Ancient marble sculptures. Expensive perfume. Breakfast in bed. Reading stories about mythology.
ROMANTIC
Compassion. Short writings on scraps of paper. Blushed cheeks. A bouquet of roses. Reading collections of poetry late at night. Loose hair. Carpeted floors. Attending operas. Faint music playing in the background. Staying under the covers until midday. The night sky. Streetlights. Picking flowers. Dancing around in silk dresses/nice suits. Scented candles
