Heya Jude, finally got around to the EC update and the part where we can choose to make Luce a virgin made me kinda philosophical. I like the thought of a Luce who engages in every other vice in a twisted form of self harm but when it comes to sex, there is this half hearted attempt at Catholic redemption. In some ways I feel awfully sorry for Luce, how will they ever stop when the only one who can stand them are themsleves. I also was curious about the Ros reactions to finding out Luce, despite the rumors, is actually a virgin. Like I know Dante is the type to find it hot but I can see Lazlo being shocked or even Carmen looking down on Luce. In some ways Luce is never truly seen. In general I like to think of Luce as the sad clown, a car crash in slow motion
It’s funny you mentioned Catholic redemption because if you don’t love Sam but choose not to cheat on them Luce says it’s because they were raised Roman Catholic and so they do value how sacred marriage is and don’t want to taint it even though they were pressured into it
The cognitive dissonance between that and violating all other notions of proper moral behaviour is hilarious
Carmen thinks it’s weird to deprive yourself due to religious reasons
Lazlo supports it and admires that Luce is a virgin and he’s happy all those rumours about them weren’t true
