RepostBy @craftygal1965: "RepostBy @andrearangelknits: "“Backwards” knitting 👉 I shared of video of me doing this at full speed & far away the other day, so here it is closeup & slower. ✨ it was actually so hard to get this video because apparently I use my thumb to hold onto the stitch being worked, thus obscuring everything. Swipe to the second video to see my more natural method. . . Why am I doing it? When I’m working Stockinette stitch, I knit back the other direction on WS rows instead of purling. It’s the only way I’ve found to keep my tension consistent between knit & purl rows. Plus it’s super handy for short rows, sock heels, & entrelac. . . I know some lefties learned to knit this way, but I don’t really recommend teaching new left-handers this method because it makes following patterns a little more challenging. Knitting is a somewhat ambidextrous activity - I’m right-handed, but use both hands in similar ways, so I think it’s easier on the long run for lefties to learn the usual way. . . What’s an unusual trick or method you use? One thing I adore about knitting is that there are so many methods that can give the same results. 😊 🌿 #knittingvideo #andrearangelknits #backwardsknitting #knitlove #knitstagram #knittersofinstagram" (via #InstaRepost @AppsKottage)" (via #InstaRepost @AppsKottage) https://www.instagram.com/p/BxxJ-0Jg6mp/?igshid=1w0o31ixjpolt
