Baelek and motherhood

Baelek is used to do anything she wants - when she wants it. She’s used to being by herself and not relying on anyone, she does a lot of nasty shit to get her way and she doesn’t really feel guilty about it.

Being caught up with the Inquisition is probably the best and worse thing that could happen to her.

She meets Ren - someone broken like her and jaded as well, it begins as fun and it’s all good, but then feelings starts to appear and they go with it. She’s afraid of commitment and she’s not used to care for other people and see to their needs, she would have usually just cut and run but with her responsibilities AND the kids, she can’t.

She’s selfish and a hypocrite, she loves her children - she really does but if she had to choose? She would choose Ren, without question. He’s the love of her life and that makes her afraid but she has come to term with it.

She doesn’t know how to care for her children, she doesn’t know how to give them what they need, she’s not used to have to give everything of herself to other people. That’s why, she makes a terrible parent - in her surrounding, she was never with children and despite the fact she had a relatively good childhood she was never ‘just’ a child, she doesn’t know how to act around them either.

She wants them to be happy - she doesn’t know how to provide that happiness. She doesn’t treat them like kids, and it fucks them up. Tae & Revas grow up and their models are literally legends. On their mother side, they can’t confide in her, and even if they feel the love she has for them, even if they know she would die for them... The reality is that in everyday life, she just not there. Always busy dealing with something else and she would have probably kept them inside because they are ‘weaknesses’ people could exploit to get to her.

Her moments of tenderness are probably when they are asleep, when they fall asleep alone and she comes in their room, kiss them and give them hugs, tell them how much they mean to her but she would never really say it when they are awake. Her mother was always strong in front of her - and that's what she think she has to do.
