Watching the Farinelli movie and going a little insane and they gave him a fucking mullet, look at him
Practiced some Non più andrai today as that's my new piece in voice class and I feel like my voice doesn't match it (because I think I still have a kind of teenagey sound to it and I'm not strong enough in my upper register yet to go, "You'll be among warriors, by Bacchus!!!!" appropriately), so I joked that I'm just too gay to be Figaro and so my bf invented The Gay Marriage of Figaro where Susanna is a man, or alternatively, The Lesbian Marriage of Figara
I'm getting a keyboard because my music school isn't getting back to me about my harpsichord lessons, so I will try to figure out the basics of keyboard instrument playing myself to bridge the time until my lessons hopefully start (with a book for harpsichord beginners of course (which arrived today, yippie!))
I learned that Farinelli named the (10!) harpsichords he owned after Italian artists, so I want to follow his example and name my instrument after someone from the arts too, I just don't know who, so
Who should I name my keyboard after?
Correggio (one of the artists Farinelli picked)
Raffaello (another Farinelli pick)
Caravaggio
Farinelli (or Carlo, alternatively)
another artist/singer/composer (lmk!)
vanilla extract
Another Rinaldo thought: polyamory could have fixed everything.
And since I saw the 1731 version where Argante is an alto: they could have made all main characters women. Abandon the warfare, abandon your gods, start believing in the Rinaldo yuri polycule.
The program for next season at the opera I always go to just dropped!!!! Return of Les Boréades!!!! Bruno de Sá at the Händel festival!!!!!!!!!
ANDREAS SCHOLL CONCERT TONIGHT 💯🗣️🔥🔥🔥🔥
Another absolute slapper. I should really watch a performance of The Fairy Queen someday
Also Andreas Scholl is performing relatively close to me but it is still 2,5 hours away but the tickets are only 30 bucks and it's in a church and it's a solo concert with harpsichord accompaniment but it's 2,5 hours away in a town with 7000 people and what if I'll get stuck at some train station and have to spend the night there until the next morning train comes... But 30 bucks and in a church............
