ONE SHOT: What is Jason‘s life worth to Raven
Bat- Jet - from Gotham to Bluvhaven to wherever Jason was to Titans Tower
“I have never known a betrayal as profound as what you’ve experienced. But I do know that being victimised is CORROSIVE.” Raven said gently “Sometimes talking about it… it can help. So, you ever wanna talk about it, with someone who knows the story in its entirety, I’m a strong thought away”
Jason had continued to look at the ocean, so vast and unending. It made Jason feel so small and inconsequential. Warm sand slipping through his fingers, like the time he lost. His lost childhood. It flew away, with the wind.
Raven a steady presence by his side. A supporting presence, unobtrusive. Jason could just about hear Raven’s calm breathing over the roar of the ocean, surrounding them. Its salty muggy wind assaulting their skin, pulling their clothes. Inclosing them and isolating them form the world, with a wall of sound and smell of fish and birds.
Just before the explosion at crime ally, when Bruce abandoned him in favour of his murderer, a swirl of dark purple and lilac energy surrounded his hopeless carcass. While the world exploded in yellow and orange, Jason was incased in soothing swirling darkness.
He woke, with Raven healing him, looking like all the warmth and love that was missing from his life. Like family.
But unlike his father, who’d beat him up or his mother who betrayed him to get murdered, Raven looked like a mother goddess, a sister to support him. A shoulder to cry on.
Jason was glad he let Damian pilot the Bat-jet, which he was eager to do. The boy had really grown up. Matured into a good and strong Robin. With his own moral code.
The thought of Titans Tower and seeing Raven again had him distracted. She had saved his life. What did she think of how Jason was spending his second chance?
He’d attacked Tim, the Robin who replaced him. How easy it was for Bruce, didn’t even miss a step, did he.
“It’s tough seeing this Jay” Rae said, her darkness soothing him as she healed him, yet again.
She told him that ‘Jay’ didn’t need to be Robin to be loved. That his worth did not live or die with his usefulness. That she was Jay’s friend and as much as she relied on all her friends, their value was their friendship and not their usefulness. It’d been tougher to get Jay on board with that idea. Jason wouldn’t listen that someday if he’d not be able to fight crime or defend others or do anything useful, that would not affect his value as a person more importantly a person that she loves as a dear friend.
Competitive little brat, thought Jason fondly. Dick was Damian’s co-pilot this flight. Keeping his backseat flying to a minimum, Jason saw. Dick was literally biting his lip to keep his mouth shut. Damian had been Dick’s Robin while Bruce was out of the picture. And now Dick was finding it difficult to not fall into old patterns.
Jason was beginning to see the truth of Raven’s words. The value of human life objectively and the value of his as well. That even without Bruce to love him or Dick or even Al, he was a person.
If they needed killing, he’d kill’em. But after Raven took him to crime ally and showed him the minds of every mugger out that night. It’s safe to say he better appreciated why Batman adopted the boy who stole Batmobile’s tyres.
A flicker at his peripheral vision, Jason looked up. They were here.

Bat-Jet
So this is my design of the Batwing/Bat-jet (whatever the correct term is).
The design inspiration for this was the Horten Ho 229 and generally a flying bat, especially the rear design of the engines.
This is to fit into my Batman Beyond screenplay. All contained in my tumblr.
