When Nightshade was just born of course they didn't know how to read. So Cass read to them instead. The problem arose when she couldn't be home because of school or work, so she ended up getting a library card and bringing home picture books. After that more serious books followed, since her home didn't have much interesting stuff to read, and that's how they both ended up diving into literature.

Even though Nightshade learned how to read already they still often ask Cass to read to them. Their top favorites are "Howl's moving castle" and of course "Winged Sentinel"

Their wings are see through and reflect light very pretty, but not so much that it would be too noticeable when they lurk around at night.

I'm still thinking about wings and spark chamber colors, but overall I'm going to give them oxidized copper color so they actually look like an old gargoyle

Gargoyle Nightshade's tail turns into a sword that they can use both as a sword and as a scorpion whip depending on the situation

(I will be working some more on their design because I kinda want to make them look a bit more like a Predacon)

WIP of new Nightshade design

I'll still be working on it, that's for sure, because it's not quite conveying what I want it to.

Basically, the bade idea was to have them look like a gothic gentleman because they wrap their tail around their waist in their pede mode, which kinda looks like a corset (also their first appearance in Earthspark made them look a bit gentleman-like). But I also want to incorporate some gothic architecture elements into the design since in this AU they are very interested in architecture. And I also want them to kinda look like a Predacon. Honestly, I don't even know how I'm going to mix all those.

I'll probably go all out on their wings when I get to designing them
