Damian was so mistreated by Bruce when they first met (and now also ngl). I’m not placing all the blame on Bruce, it was a…complex…situation, but he’s a grown man he could’ve found a better way to handle things.
So the idea of Damian becoming an adult and having a dad who now spoils him a LOT. Would be very funny.
Bruce, back when Damian was like ten-fourteen: I love you…but I don’t like you. I can’t stand being around you sometimes. While I care for you, I won’t show it unless it’s the very last minute and the threat of your death is upon us.
Bruce, when Damian’s twenty and living his own life away from the manor: My darling baby boy needs to visit me PLEASE I need to see how he’s doing IMMEDIATELY. I miss my baby so much. Do you know how AMAZING my baby is? DO YOU!?!
Damian gets away with so much now and he’s pretty sure it was supposed to be the opposite in terms of relationship development, but he just got a cool new car and batcomputer privileges so he won’t be complaining anytime soon.
